I hate telling people I still have a AOL account, but when they tell me they still use Yahoo and hotmail....I don’t feel bad at all.

Once they start crying or telling you their poor wife died, then you know it's a scam. I used to get that a lot on AOL when it first came out. #Devilintheweb

  • AlphaMorphology N.E. Smith (@AlphaMorphology) reported

@MeatTC_ But AOL actually provided quality service for its users. $COIN has perpetually crashed during volatility even since the GDAX days.

@MeatTC_ kind of a bad analogy, did AOL sell access to its competitors? cexes even sell dex tokens which are direct competitors, not even a broad competition

  • retroflex_eth retroflex.eth (@retroflex_eth) reported

@cburniske Read somewhere on Twitter today how Ethereum is crypto’s AOL and Coinbase crypto’s Netscape. Bad idea to draw market parallels but can’t help but think in these terms. Thoughts?

  • albyva Alby (@albyva) reported

@AlbertSTartagl1 AOL is something I never used. In 91 I was 19/20 (depending on the month) and using the University of Maryland's system as my internet portal via nefarious methods 🤪. That was until I started paying for internet access via Digex. Then got a job in the industry at UUnet in 93.

  • lazermole Flux {Rage arc} (@lazermole) reported

@Not_CharLatte AOL chats mostly, but I had an Internet boyfriend in Australia through IRC long after I even thought the service lost support at all

  • LurkerMister MisterLurker (@LurkerMister) reported

@The_IAP @mrddmia Augmented reality (the metaverse) is the future. But a single company will fail to own it just like AOL failed to monopolize news/emails/internet connection.
