  • cbrzeszczot asie 🐀 (@cbrzeszczot) reported

@StochasticOoze Sivion 1.00 (ZZT) -> Sivion 2.00g (ZZT); both were released on AOL. We have the latter one. It's the MegaZeux version that was never finished.

  • catreadway Cliff Treadway (@catreadway) reported

@ryanhallyall I guess I got my first home computer in 1995 (’94 maybe). Google wouldn’t have had anything to do with the YouTube platform then (if YouTube even existed yet). I don’t think I had much—if anything—to do with the Internet. …Just remained on AOL’s network.

  • Wiltmellow Milton Wiltmellow (@Wiltmellow) reported

@emptywheel Several issues seem lost to G'wald et al. 1. Punditry isn't litigation. There's no judge, no jury, no verdict. 2. Social media, even going back to AOL chat, is a new innovation. Twitter is a media equivalent of graphic novels. 1/

@Crmp200Ramon @KhandakarSaad @TheCovalentTV No but you are if you refuse to do your own research instead “but yeah the IWC said” AOL didn’t give a damn about booking, or anything like that.

  • wanyinbot Jiang Cheng (@wanyinbot) reported

Jin Ling. Come help me guess Wei Wuxian's AOL password

  • Volfmyr Volfmyr (@Volfmyr) reported

@jpcoovert Haha definitely one that leans social but certainly takes place at locations. @jpcoovert I'm trying to pin down what you're thinking of. For example, a one-shot where you're teens in the 90s and the whole game takes place in an AOL chat?

  • ParchedMint Parched Mint ⚡ (@ParchedMint) reported

@l_bowline Its redundant because being able to do a single thing better does not make up for not being the winning protocol/network. Hence the AOL example.

  • instabucher #FREEBRITNEY (@instabucher) reported

We lived in AOL chat rooms when we were 13. Allowing your children on the internet isn’t the problem. Not parenting them is.

  • Sol_invectus Sol Invictus (@Sol_invectus) reported

@Telepath42 Fix th mistake of not buying Apple, Microsoft, AOL Google & BitCoin way back in the day

  • wargoat ❌War Goat 🇺🇸⚓️ (@wargoat) reported

@backtolife_2023 @avibebert Everyone either has forgotten the first rule of the Internet or never experienced it before AOL.
