Professor Scott Galloway NYU Stern school of business. “Musk buying Twitter was the second worst acquisition in history.” “ he bought a company worth $10-$12B for $44B.” The first? AOL purchase of Time Warner.

@wotveteran Didn't realise this was a big deal or understand the issue with it (till now). Interesting comments in thread. I personally think it makes sense that in AoL they would have better understanding of the wheel & know he was reborn (over & over). Reinforces reincarnation theme.

@hacks4pancakes I used to call MAE-West to give a heads-up whenever USA Today or Readers Digest was going to highlight my website I also called MAE-West whenever AOL pleaded for my help to stop their panicky users from forwarding email hoax virus alerts -- by pointing them to a brand-new page

@A_Dull_Boy My problem isn't with the concept, it's with the business. Humans naturally gravitate towards the easiest application in new concepts. My worry with VR is for a decade or more people will use it the way the internet was used (porn). META the idea > META the business. AOL 2.0

@LorEkeeprDeSert Let's be real here raiding the icy town is a bad custom. Itd be a great custom if I didnt have to listen to a cover of the AOL internet startup noise for the last half of it.

@hacks4pancakes I was a teen, coming home from GenCon with a new D&D game that required an online service (AOL)... there was no windows version, and the DOS version it came with was like 1.0 or 1.1

@RBReich All true, but Twitter could well be a house of cards and an epically bad investment. It's only 16 years old; across the arc of time, who can say it will exist 16 or even 6 years from now? AOL, anyone?
