thinking about that time when i was 9 years old and i stole my mom’s credit card, signed us up for AOL internet, and started chatting with a girl about ten years my senior in Massachusetts. as you could imagine, it was the most trouble i had ever gotten into at that point

The right-wing AOL site (some of us still hang onto our ancient AOL e-mail addresses) with another screed today about the CDC's "messaging" mess. No. Never less than clear: 2020 -- mask and distance. 2021 -- get vaccinated. It's only confusing if you want it to confuse. Some do.

@alex_shephard I remember when I was on the development team for Compuserve’s (failed obviously) assault on AOL in 1996 all the design people had Macs and the edit people had PCs and I thought that was wack. I hold JF in high esteem but I’ve never bought a PC

@WilliamsonStrg So they think if someone screenshots awful things they allow in their group, that means that person is posting the awful things? Are they so unfamiliar with technology that they are accessing the web on land line using AOL dial up?
