thinking about that time when i was 9 years old and i stole my mom’s credit card, signed us up for AOL internet, and started chatting with a girl about ten years my senior in Massachusetts. as you could imagine, it was the most trouble i had ever gotten into at that point

@NellaKrios Dial-up was never available in my area. By the time my house had internet, things had progressed to the first cable modems. I just never had AOL, I made a single Hotmail address that I made at 17 and still use today at 39.

@Brushwolf 3 points. Only because where I live AOL and paper checks were never a thing, and MySpace wasn't popular.

@hollye83 @TNRLM 2 for me 1. my dad worked in IT & has always been a computer snob so he refused to get AOL 2. I was sufficiently terrified of meeting people on the internet thanks to news stories while MySpace was still around -I am very susceptible to these types of ads, I also never used drugs
