@Irina_exh 19. I never had an AOL address.

But AOL knew a threat was approaching. Broadband internet was gaining momentum. The problem? AOL’s business model was built for the old internet. The slow, dial-up world. To compete with broadband, AOL thought it needed something it didn’t yet have: World-class content. A merger with Time Warner would give AOL access to some of the most valuable media properties in the world. Together, they believed they could dominate the future of the internet.

@PhilipCDube Unfortunately Dr Resnick’s AOL dial up service was not enough bandwidth to carry his voice. The defense should have MADE SURE he was in a place in Ohio where there was proper internet service. This was way too important!

@Irina_exh 18 for sure, Aunt had a waterbed. I tried it, it was terrible, and I never used an AOL address. I was a yahoo guy. Still have it. I did, however, use those cds that gave you internet time.

@Irina_exh 18. Never had an AOL address and never had a walkman

  • _tinatruth

This collided with AOL’s vision to own the future of the internet. Unlike today’s internet services that act as gateways to the online world AOL wanted to control the internet service itself — and also be the place where people spent most of their online time. Users came to AOL for: News. Entertainment. Shopping. Sports. Chat rooms etc.

@SwarupChattrjee @ArtofLiving On the contrary, AOL has rejuvenated numerous rivers, thousands of lakes, billions of trees. The people who caused the 10 year trouble needs to be penalized.
