@chrismaddern It's forgotten that before AOL and Google very few people used the internet and it had a really bad reputation of scammers and hackers. This changed over time with more users more web companies and better tools JavaScript, no Adobe flash, anti spam, Google, Yahoo, 2fa, etc

The Internet has broken my brain so much that now every time I see someone fire dancing or juggling or doing any kind of showy type thing I internally say “wow” like the kid from the vaping video. I don’t remember being this silly when I was on aol as a teenager.

@Just_this_time @TychoTithonus Do I care about AOL users? Not so much. Just look at the UI. That's like 1999, 2000 UI design. Even with the updates. AOL just needs to go away. Unless someone wants to try and fix it. UI in most modern browsers works for me. I think you can teach anyone to use one.

When I was 11, I was curious and looked at a random AOL chatroom and received an email from someone I’d never spoken to. Enclosed were the boudoir photos of a very unattractive couple. I deleted them and somehow managed to move on with my life.

@RadioKitty For me it was AOL (this is how long ago it was). I swear I had to send them multiple death certificates. And to the person in charge of my brother's 401k, who treated me like a thief, when I had already sent the executor paperwork in, **** you, I still remember.
