@reallyrai oh yes we all were. see when I first got aol I didn’t even have a web cam lol. I started off with scanning pics lmao. once I got a webcam it was sidekicks and myspace. but yes, some wild stuff went down back then lol. probably why I be watching my kids on the internet like 🤨

@baylarenee it was but wasn't... MSN was military though cus y'all had AOL chats... but xanga i knew ppl from my whole middle school on that mess and I moved to Japan after and we had it. then black planet was booming but I never got on that thank God. I see how the ppl act lol.

@Ahaus101 @TalkNats @TSileo That is so good. The old AOL modem dial up service. Someone picks up the phone in your home and the internet cuts off. I had no idea it has been over 25 years for the Barves.

I remember when I was 9 & making an AOL screen name for the Nickelodeon chat rooms &I tried to put 420 at the end of it & my parents said no, try again so I said ok then 69 & they got very concerned & sat me down at the kitchen table and had a talk with me about "adult numbers"

Just got reminded that my first AOL screen name had a lot of X's in it. Probably too many for a kid who just wanted to hang out on Star Wars message boards. No wonder I had adults hitting me up. I was so confused.

@Latinos4Lib @GrandmaD62 We'd literally get so many of those damn things, we'd decorate our rooms with them. I am NOT kidding. They were EVERYWHERE, and unavoidable. PS. I hated AOL, and didn't even have an account. I was a Compuserve man, and will be until the day I die!
