  @ConceptualJames I refer to her as AOL. Slow. Not enough bandwidth, and every time she opens her mouth it’s sounds like a screeching modem.

  LOL, compete with other streaming mergers. Paramount+ works worse than AOL dial-up in the 1990's. It sucks so bad they need help!

  @danbulmer70 AOL....OMG I threw away those disks. Never give them to my customers because it would just cause sooooo much headache. So many ID 10 T issues.

  Likes have been limited + erased for days I can't catch up & of course help service is down. The worst ran social media i ever seen. Ive used every one since MySpace. I'm 1 of the 1st ever to merge sports & internet in the world going back to AOL never seen anything like this bs

  NEVER RUN CODE IF YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT IT DOES!!! ******* hell we learned this **** back when AOL was still a primary internet access software(Dialup) how are you still this stupid... treat every software like its a virus threat run it in a VPN first or run it through threat tools

  History tells us that the companies that are early leaders in a software category rarely remain so. Altavista? Excite? InfoSeek? You're old if you remember those, but at the time they were dominant. Then came Yahoo, then Google... Years later. AOL? EarthLink? Compuserve? They were the Internet for most users. Now? Telcos & Cable cos reinvented themselves as consumer ISPs and dial up mostly died. The historical examples go way beyond software. The point is that although OpenAI, Anthropic, Grok/X, Google are dominating AI right now, things change in ways we can't forecast. The next better faster cheaper different AI solution that erases some current leaders probably hasn't been created yet. I do wonder though, who dies first? I'm talking 5-10 year window.

  I think OpenAI and Anthropic might be the CompuServe and AOL of the AI era. Does anyone actually think Microsoft, Google, Amazon, Apple, Meta, Oracle, IBM, X/Twitter, and all of the other big tech companies will just allow these 2 badly run startups to capture the AI market? OpenAI and Anthropic don't have a moat or sustainable competitive advantage. To win they have to not only develop a moat but penetrate some of the most fortified moats. Model quality isn't a moat. Kimi, Grok, Deepseek proved that. Inference will become a commodity utility that requires massive CapEx that neither can finance. Interface is where the moat is the weakest. OpenAI and Anthropic do not own the apps or the OS. The OS and apps are owned by parties who view OpenAI or Anthropic as threats. The OS and apps are where AI choice happens. As if that is not grim enough, AI sovereignty will become an issue. Consumers will want their iCloud data to stay in iCloud, their OneDrive data to stay in OneDrive, etc. Enterprise customers will want AI from their cloud providers to reduce egress and for performance + IP reasons. It is honestly hard to imagine a world where OpenAI and Anthropic survive as they are. They will either morph into companies with entirely different value offerings or die like Compuserve and AOL.
