-
Netwerkin (@Netwerkin666) reportedWithout gaming of some type, most people find their computers useless if their ISP is down. We had a great time on our PC's before the AOL era started.
-
JD (@JDunn1973) reported@SunlunTickets Somebody tie Luke and Trai to a lamp post at the AOL please and tell them they are never allowed to leave
-
Big Cat Sports (@bsports1234) reported@Xfinity resorting to the old AOl tactics of their web site not working and constantly logging you out or "technical issues" when trying to pull up your bill.

Greg (@gkamstra) reported@gordie_smith Eventbrite was a horrible public company. AOL is an ice cube. You can make really good money buying them cheap and running them off (or turning them around), but it works way better in private markets w 5-10 year horizons. Most of the companies that do this well (that Iām aware of) are privately held. Opentext would be an example of a public one. Super low multiples, pretty crappy performance (although did well early on when it was smaller). I wish them a ton of luck, but I just expect over a multi-year horizon, the market will decide it hates the stock even if they make good decisions and create value.

MmmSushi (@MMmmmmSushi) reported@megaburger_usd1 @ciderpunk20 She got put through the ringer not only on X, but also on discord. This was the very first token created on AOL and it got rugged. In fact, EVERY single $aol token has been rugged. They're literally offering apys off rugged tokens from their platform. How sad is that ****?

N.I.Veteran (@GanglSepp) reportedKids today will never know true frustration, like we had back in the day, waiting ( whilst listening to it scream ) for AOL to connect to the internet on a dial-up modem... only for someone in the house to pick up the phone! šš»š©š¶

CBradleyGo (@Bradley50385916) reported@AntiLeftMemes 19. Never did get an account with AOL....LOL
-
Unsupervised Entertainment (@GoUnsupervised) reportedThe AOL dial-up screech was a real-time negotiation between two modems; each tone a specific protocol signal exchanged between your machine and the ISP. Engineers made the entire handshake audible by design. Users kept unplugging their modems during the connection, and the reason users kept unplugging their modems during the connection is that they were unplugging their modems during the connection.

Karen Knudson (@KKnudsonHistDoc) reported@TexasShae2 @JonKatz79 I use my AOL email as a dumping ground when I do not wish to be nagged. I never look at it.
