yesterday i tried explaining to a gen z-er how in 2005 you had to be careful or you'd end up with 4 separate aol toolbars installed on your desktop or setting the official verizon browser to default and i have never felt so old

@bullshitjobs Kind of all the same thing: we need to conserve resources. I ran an entire news network at AOL back when they were huge - from my living room - w/no ZOOM.

@DeFiGod1 Looks like something I did at 1am in the morning in my Microsoft paint days with the AOL IM chat running and sports illustrated swimsuit magazines laying around as I ate my 3D Doritos and washed it down with a fruitopia strawberry passion and topped it off with gummy shark bites.

@dcuthbert I worked for an auction startup for AOL, they wanted it walk to work via the ****** AOL browser and I at the age of 19 told a very senior exec at AOL that his product was **** and it would die horribly to Netscape. We made the auction site using proper http and he made 40 million

These kids working at t-mobile trying to help an elderly lady with her aol account are so endearing.

@MakiItohSimp142 I think we're long past wondering, "why is WWE doing (thing here) when it makes them look bad?" They straight up don't care what others think of them. They're "too big to fail." You know, like Enron, AOL, and Yahoo.
