@joncoopertweets @AOL I'm tired of fricking apologies. JUST DONT DO IT!! Treat people the way you want them to treat you!! If you want the public to respect you, earn it. They need to be fired and the message to all on the force that such behavior WILL NOT BE TOLERATED.

@aolmail hello, I just got off customer support line. My aol email@I’ve been using for over a decade suddenly stopped working and aol want to charge me to recover me password and I can only do it over the phone. He said that even if I know my password, it doesn’t matter. Why?

  • skulleigh Skulleigh (@skulleigh) reported

@HerbertHistory Despite the claim of no internet yet, I was working tech support for AOL nights and weekends because it paid extra!

  • Lacci 〈Lacci|🍃|🐇〉 (@Lacci) reported

Facebook is way more of a monopoly and is closer to printing money instead of having to make expensive capital investments to get users. AOL died because other companies shut them out of providing broadband service via regional broadband monopolies.

@zerena_hoofs Being an idiot in an AOL chat room

  • pfltb Lindsay (@pfltb) reported

@tiffmc1013 We had this service called Prodigy before AOL, which was like online message boards. That was early 90s. And then AOL came in and took over - we thought we were big time with AOL!

  • unfortunatalie Nat Guest (@unfortunatalie) reported

@NormaliseSimon Tbf I eventually got bored of that and started frequenting AOL Sweden instead, trying to teach myself Swedish age 10 - **** knows why.

  • aleksastunikas Alexas 'Sugar Pie Pumpkin' Tunikas (@aleksastunikas) reported

I GUESS THE NICEST LESSON EXTRACTED FROM PLAYING CHESS FOR THE PROLONGED PERIOD OF TIME IS THAT SOLUTION IS ALWAYS THERE YOU MIGHT NOT SEE IT BUT IT THERE BURIED IN THE GEOMETRY OF THE BOARD. AOL CHATS WITH @bmiloy

  • iamyourfarmer adam baldwin (@iamyourfarmer) reported

@trukb22 @farmer_average I think it just shows a misunderstanding of what rural even means. I think a lot of people in comments still think we are using AOL dialup from 1998. And we are all the worst stereotype you can think of, but for me high speed just means I can upload large files

  • Science_Russell Russell Carter (@Science_Russell) reported

@beckisaid Lol we had the internet in 1996. It actually wasn’t too bad. Compuserve, AOL, & Prodigy were the isp’s to choose from. It was an exciting time to be a junior in high school for me.

  • bootscooty Mister Savage (@bootscooty) reported

@LaurenGallaway @JovanHPulitzer Wtf are you kids talking about? WWW/the internet was mainstream in 1996. Everyone had Netscape Navigator and AOL and 56kpbs modems.
