  @BryanShephard2 It is all set now!! They hacked my email and aol has this stupid loophole that allowed them to keep doing it over and over. I guess that will teach me to keep aol! The good thing is I've had texts & calls from people I haven't heard from in a long time... Mike, Derek, etc.

  I remember when I was young and my mother would take me to the mall. I would bring a small notepad and pencil, then sit in Walden Books and write down things I had to do where I was stuck when I couldn't afford the guide. And as far as Gamefaqs is concerned, I don't think I knew that existed till like 1998 or 1999. It's not like we had social media to talk about different websites, I had to search using AOL keywords.

  Oh... Just in case it hasn't sunk in yet AI being able to code as well as it does means that software as a product or service is DEAD AS A DOOR-NAIL It will probably stop twitching in about 4-5 years for most people, but expect some companies to hold on by charging subscription services until 25 years after they have become irreverent...   @TheDrugMoney This goes back to the limewire/AOL music server debate. Like cable vs Netflix. You just don't know what you want unless you see it in front of you. You may not need everything you lay your eyes on but you'll enjoy ******** out of it

  @2147mill The problem with the normie test is that the internet passed it in 1999 too. Totally non techy families were on AOL back then as well, over 20 million of them by the end of 1999. Amazon went from 17 million customers to 25 million between 1999 and 2001 and nearly doubled revenue, and the stock still lost 94% over those two years. So usage only tells you the thing is real. For the bubble question I look at what people pay for the earnings. Cisco was over 100x forward at the 2000 top, Nvidia is under 20x right now. Same thing with the crypto half of your post by the way. Nobody uses gold day to day either and that never made gold a bubble.

  @lithos_graphein @brockpierson Love it, fond memories of my BBS days. I was one of the first in my area to get a meg drive for my Commodore 64! I still dream of the sound the modem used to make. Then the Prodigy service came along and soon after the mass mailing of AOL disks! That was the end of most BBS’s
