@technotic_us @AccidentalCISO I have previously worked with people who created incidents. Someone (not me) failed to cost out a circuit years ago and resulted in the great AOL “goodbye” incident. Yep—back in the day I was at AOL in their NOC. Moved upstairs and then left a couple months later.

@WebConn69 @zaziethedog @WrestlingCovers I wasn't happy with the Sting thing. He's my guy. WCW was shut down due to Turner. They didn't want wrestling anymore. When the AOL/Time Warner merger happened Ted Turner no longer had any control. They killed wrestling then. They eventually shut it down and sold it off.

The point about Vox/NY is, in 1996, “Content ↔ AOL ↔ You” was not too far from how it actually worked. Today, everything we use online is a series of tubes. And you only have to take a wrench to one of them to flood ✨ literally any digital service ✨ with sewage.

@BootlegGirl @MichaelOfHealy He was pretty active on a lot of forums back in the day. He'd post occasionally on the AOL Drizzt message boards in the '90s. He got pretty severe harassment on most SW boards when he killed Chewie. It was bad.
