@MaggieMaeCat @CZEdwards @MoreAndAgain Ah, the aol atom issue, and the fun modem string that tended to make rockwell 33.6 modems hang on even with crappy phone lines. My fav was the old folk who would run into an install error, then just install it again, about 40 times then call to have it fixed.

  • jong Jon Gilbert (한) (@jong) reported

@hschhaya @doctorow Oh, god yeah, ALLL the various letters and paperwork and pleading afterwards. Ex: I have enough return address stickers from Amnesty Intl to last me TWO lifetimes, and they'll never. Ever. Stop coming. Like AOL CD-ROMs.

  • totowatony Totowatony (@totowatony) reported

@GoingParabolic Bitcoin will soon be outdated. Like AOL during internet boom. It was initially a Great idea but soon got replaced by better versions and ideas. Too slow to be a currency and uses too much power.

  • DrAmyMarschall Dr. Amy Marschall, Psy.D. (@DrAmyMarschall) reported

One day, you logged off of AOL Instant Messenger and never logged back on

  • grendelgrim John P. Schulz (@grendelgrim) reported

@greggutfeld Just have the My Pillow guy fix it, he’s apparently good at internet stuff. He still uses AOL dialup.

  • graveyard_takes Original Juice (@graveyard_takes) reported

At least a third of my cousins were born on 4/29 which only became an issue when it was time to choose screen names I lost many cousins during the AOL wars (1996-1999)

@HodlTarantula History rhymes. Too bad those who were Netscape/AOL/Compuserve maxis try to say they were part of the internet too. Shiternets trying to rewrite history.
