  @DustyRondeau @PJB170 @WeWatchedAMovie I'm sorry but do you really think parents pimping out their kids is best addressed by going after people other than the parents. Also, that wasn't what these stings were. There are statistics on molestation. 1 in 5 children are propositioned on the internet. It happened to me regularly in the old AOL days. (AOL did nothing to crack down on it initially) However, that is not who molested me. The number of kids molested by a stranger online is so small it isn't even statistically significant. Because I'm a survivor, I've talked to other survivors a lot in different groups and literally have never met anybody who was molested by a stranger.

  X is broken as Hell right now. Like & Repost if you agree and are having similar issues. People I follow time lines aren't working, impossible to see who you follow or follows you, can't tag more than 4 ppl. 1989 "You've got Mail" worked better with AOL.

  @unseen1_unseen This is what’s was like trying to cancel an AOL account back in the day. But this account says it’s based in Africa so probably not especially credible.

  Goddammit it..... 20.... I had to fax away financial paperwork for schooling. I used a rotary phone at my grandmother's. When I was a kid, I've used it encyclopedia, because I was always interested in facts in looking stuff up. I used floppy disks Galore back in the day. I had an AOL email. I still have my records and my record player. I loved dial up internet, but it was so slow. Cool but slow i've used an old school film camera and then even in old school picture camera with film. Yes, there's a difference once for movies. One's for pitchers i've used a phone booth when I didn't have a cellphone back in the day i had to write cursive in grade three i had to use checks to pay for some stuff.And to get direct deposits set up with work i used a typewriter in typing class in school i use a dictionary sometimes cause I can't spell worth a darn i had a bunch of vhs, tapes and v c r's when I was a kid i used a paper map because where we were going, we didn't have gps, and then I even printed out the map quest directions my grandfather used to have a water bed in his guest room i've sent.I don't know how many postcards i had a walkman and a discman and yes they're different and I even used the phone book when I was younger to orderbTakeout now if you don't mind, i'm gonna go yell at some kids that are crossing my lawn lol jk but seriously I feel so old now

  @BadfishRanch @BlueFlameBlues As someone who was nearing 30 in the mid-2000s when started I had never had an AOL account before. Blew my mind that all my counterparty interactions were using that platform. No ICE chat then too but you could message anyone in the bid stack which is bonkers to think about too

  @rovabtw Used to be standard for me. AOL chat back in the day (son's mother) or Facebook. Never a dating site.

  Welp..all but one. The AOL address..never had one. Had a Netscape one, and Prodigy. Used the AOL discs as coasters.. :P
