  @Nyaralot3p @hasanthehun Like an elder god your incomprehensible...ly stupid. Personally I don't get your last toward hasan. He's ugly, sociopathic, an idiot, and a horrible liar. He can't even speak fast. Ppl streaming him have to do twice the speed hes so slow. Hes the AOL of streamers.

  @AwakenedOutlaw Most in Northern Virginia didn't even know these Data Centers are here. There are over 300 for Amazon Web services alone and many more new ones being built. They are huge, about 800k sf, all due to high demand. I know as I started working in one of the first, AOL, in the late 90's, all the way up to AWS recently for the past 22 years. There has never been any real issue with water or electric use. The real problems arising look to be Zoning and location issues that have real impact on residences and that is what really needs addressed. WE NEED DATA CENTERS! How do people think the Internet and this platform itself exists? 😎

  Highly recommend anyone still using @AOL to stop immediately. Its impossible to login on different devices and when the verification code isn't received customer service is useless and just hangs up without explanation just saying they "can't proceed with the call"

  @Brownbeingg There is an old horror movie from when I was a teen in the 90’s and parents were convinced this type of thing would happen to us. It’s called Strangeland(on tubi). I got caught in one AOL chat and my parents put me on AOL kids until I was 17. It was LOCKED DOWN.

  @blind_via I love that you can tell immediately exactly who this data is from and how they got it. Incredibly obvious by AOL Mail being the same amount of time as Twitter, this is boomers who click yes on every single pop-up they are given and were served a pop up on some scammy site or an email to "help with a brief survey" that led them to install the browser extension they used to get this data. Literally no one else would intentionally install a browser extension to track how they use their computer.

  @FOXLA All I can say is Paramount+ sucks. I tried it twice. It is a technical glitch disaster on my TV. It just loads like it was AOL dial-up! Give me a break!

  Gather round children, let me tell you of the Netscape Navigator In the Year of our Lord Early-1990s, one could access Bulletin Board Systems (BBS) -- essentially, a highly-selective Reddit -- BY PHONE, not the internet. You also played your friends in Warcraft 2 by phone. If you had email it likely came through a university (or, in time, your ISP) "Walled Gardens" were built out at AOL and Prodigy to facilitate user-friendly graphical interactions over the most of the 'net you were gonna get your hands on. But then... Netscape. FREE YOUR MIND was stamped all over the thing. You could do what you wanted, when you wanted it. Just a whiff of the icon could turn that frown upside down. You could guess the full URL for the admin login portal for major companies, then go to the human-legible cookie file on your machine and change the access granted value to true! When you opened someone's computer and they didn't have Netscape, your Promethean introduction of technological fire established your reputation as a true hacker We exchanged the latest search engines: WebCrawler, AltaVista, Dogpile. Jerry's Guide, even. Real wizard-tier esoterica. College students had access to unlimited bandwidth. A normal chump at home was sitting on 1-3% of 1 Mbps, or maybe 1/8 of 1 Mbps if he was a high roller with an ISDN line. But college students had T1s (1.5 Mbps) or even T3s (45 Mbps for a whole school, maybe even just a dorm). With all those sweet sweet kbps, you hit up IRC and your beautifully personal Geocities page. You used Winzip and Winamp (llama hater!). You had ASCII text art in your sig. Later in the 90s, you burned mix CDs for friends with Nero's Burning ROM and downloaded wallpapers from Digital Blasphemy. You had Juno mail, then Hotmail and Yahoo, to FREE YOUR MIND and take your email with you wherever you wanted to go. And at the heart of all this: Netscape Navigator, a.k.a Excalibur, a.k.a. Eternally-On-Evaluation, a.k.a. the 3rd-best piece of freedom I experienced after exploring our drainage ditches and getting my own bike It was truly special.
