  • johnklin John K. Lin (@johnklin) reported from Mountain View, California

@ccwu I remember being a Quantum Link subscriber on my Commodore 64 and 300 baud modem and that service disappearing fairly quickly. I only learned later from Kara Swisher's book on AOL that Quantum Link was the precursor to AOL.

  • DavidKyle David Kyle (@DavidKyle) reported

@realjohnmonarch I was on Prodigy in high school, which was pre-AOL, and they charged chat by the hour. Parents were not happy with the first bill. I lived for free chat weekends. Was on a lot of local BBSs during that time as well. AOL IM was basically my social network during college.

  • ManuelRoyalATL Manuel Royal (@ManuelRoyalATL) reported

@emilyc_moore I guess about 5,000. When I used to do a serial fiction column (never sign a contract with AOL) I had a terrible habit of waiting until the day of deadline and then pounding out an episode in a kind of fever. Idiotic way to work.

@SkyHelpTeam is there an issue in UB5 regarding broadband, my speeds have dropped significantly and is only marginally better than AOL dial up in 1997

  • jeff_hanna Jeff Hanna - And I thought 2019 was bad... (@jeff_hanna) reported

@RodneyDavis So now the regional papers have absolutely nothing to offer. They hold on because of the subscribers that can't be bothered to cancel their subs. It's the newspaper version of how AOL still has thousands of users who pay monthly for dial up service. 4/

It’s July 2021, who in the hell is trying to login to my AOL account. They text me the code, numb nut!

@SundaeRedux @AOL I'm old enough to remember AOL would cut out if you sat idle .. "Goodbye" Does it still do that? 1

@SundaeRedux Nope. But if his lawyers use AOL they'll let him. Now admitting you cheated on taxes live was stupid, all 3 of them. Ivanka is like STFU!

  • V2Shantanu v2 shantanu, on the brink of insanity (@V2Shantanu) reported

@AnOpenComment My father had this one. It worked great for 2 years straight, but later started misbehaving. One fine day, it got switched off and never saw the light of the day ever again. Rest in peace, champ. You'll be missed. Such a nostalgia. AOL, don't buy it now, there're better phones.

@KatiePe29866702 Lol on AOL. And book sales are slow. But I am finally starting to reach out to media. Sales should pick up after I get some coverage. I will also be working on some paid advertising soon. I have a lot of work ahead of me, but I feel like things are moving in a positive direction.
