You have NFTs and crypto which are scarce for reasons that benefit very few and replicate bad offline models. You have Facebook creating their weird AOL-esque metaverse thing. It's designed to wall off access. It's literal gatekeeping with literal online gates and fences.

  • ControlCentral1 Filbèrt (@ControlCentral1) reported

@GregCfollows @joshtpm @MaxKennerly IMO, just on the er, face of it, Facebook is AOL. I've never been on it partly for that reason-- I had been an original AOL user, no need to duplicate that experience.

Swear if they use their aol email still they loyal as ****

  • Watchingwheels7 Watchingwheels7 (@Watchingwheels7) reported

@sal_licata Old guy @craigcartonlive doesn't understand that we have computers now that don't require AOL dial-up and something called Comrex. Wtf is the point of spending the graveyard shift in Hudson Square? Plus I like BNNY on @SNYtv , or I did until I had to drop overpriced cable

  • wjmaggos William Maggot̶s (@wjmaggos) reported

@EPoe187 I imagine most of the people arguing about this wish we never ventured beyond AOL keywords and chat rooms.

  • JoshCMidwest Joshua Cuellar (@JoshCMidwest) reported

@senatormelendez This is perfect and what people expected the government to run like by 2002. AOL, Prodigy and CompuServe came out in 1995 so DSL deployment was complete by 2002/2003. It is now 2022 and its not a case of better late then never. So let's continue catching up. 30th/40th place.

@federalreserve I just tried to close my American Home Shield account. After about one hour trying to convince me to not, they agreed to close the account but I have my doubts. I am one of those millions of Americans who had same problems with AOL. Consumer Protection Agency was of no help.

  • WorldJonasNews World Jonas News (@WorldJonasNews) reported

@JonasMusicNews I done twice first time was the first show they did in nyc horrible photos. Second one was you bought the album in the city it was the best $12 I spent. Also saw them that day at aol build.

  • AntiRainbow Ryn (@AntiRainbow) reported

@ganglads_ Grew up in AOL Chatrooms and Fandom MSG Boards and never batted an eyelash at talking to someone older or younger then I was. Hell, I still talk to various age ranges due to gaming. Think people today are just bored and wanting to find issues when there are none.

  • goldeagle418 RyanGlidewell (@goldeagle418) reported

@RyanSAdams Lol that’s all anti ETH people say. It’s expensive and slow. Like y’all didn’t wait 2 minutes for aol to connect to the internet. Yeah? What else you got? That’s it that’s all they got. ETH 2.0 brother then no marketing will be needed
