I guess they are an evolution of the old (though still existing) AOL, MSN and Yahoo! style landing pages (local ISPs used to have 'em too). Those sites feel kinda... mass market, ad-driven, Network Nightly News-ish. These custom pages were a step up I think.

@LizardSF @cris_dela_zerda @BadLegalTakes Spam filters would indicate the GOP has never even read AOL v. Cyber Promotions Inc which is directly on point, IMO, to show they're wrong. They love to claim that Google ads algorithms are viewpoint biased. Technically not as bad a take, but still pretty f'ing stupid.

Way back in the day on AOL some dude claiming to be Rey Jr told me to always follow my dreams. I let that Rey Jr down…..the real one too I guess.

@DigitalDragonCo I still have my apple link email address that is now aol! I was in from the beginning! People wonder why I still use aol… I’ve never once had a problem… and it’s nostalgic! 🤩

@BrianFeroldi 2000 we were to young, just excited to get AOL, 2009 set us back career wise, but we didn't have any assets to lose. Covid was so quick. I have a job + money to lose now - it's much scarier now at 35 than just having no money or job at all at 22 in 09. Worst of the 4 for me
