    Why every country apparently maintains a large stable of diplomats after May 1997, the launch date of AOL Instant Messenger, I'll never know.

    @rosamund @andthankyou Had to be after 2004, but I don’t remember when it finally became non-invite. Def ppl clowning @aol addresses by then; Hotmail got bad rep post MS buy; Yahoo got sus as soon as Gmail was around
