  Spotify will probably fail at some point and go the way of MySpace, AOL, Ask Jeeves and a million others. But something else will come up in its place with a new take on an old idea - something to disrupt the established market and be what TikTok is to Facebook right now.

  Something about the twitterverse today reminded me of when my father got rid of our normal ISP (probably AOL at the time) and signed us up for a service called something like "Catholic Online." He changed all the desktop icons on the computer to, like, tiny Jesus icons.

  @BitcoinMagazine The costs to KYC someone back then were exorbitant. It would have put most ISPs out of business sans “walled garden” AOL and we would not have seen the massive world changing innovation and subsequent rush of users to venture online. Poor regulation can cripple an industry.

  As an AOL signin, I came up with a Midnytespider because I was obsessed with Spider-Man’s black costume. When SFV came out, I wanted to back down the edgelord-ness of it and reflect that I was a family man. Hence, Mr Midnyte.

  I still have an AOL account t and it has 17k emails. I’m scared to delete them even though I will never read them. What if I need to know about the sale Bath and Body had last month?
