He might as well be giving away old AOL infected software with it. I hacked AOL’s mainframe computer. I changed the font size.

JereMemez (@JereMemez) reported@Kngsolo305 I was late Gen X. I definitely got a bug dose of video games and AOL hit me hard right after high school. I remember being grounded from going outside and having to stay in my room. It was horrible. Now, kids are punished by NOT being allowed to sit in their rooms. So much has changed.

In fact I learned the lion's share of my grammar and spelling from AOL chat rooms. I was never a huge fan of fiction (basically I never read fiction) and everything I wanted to know what on the internet. People have this thing still, like, "Oh, well if you don't read books, you're an idiot..." I've been glued to the computer since the internet started. I've been 'reading' my entire life.

Beaubien (@el_beaubien) reported@PhilosophyOnX Not to punish ... rather to ignore. That's a lifetime observation. Post an argument ... get an argument. Post an actual functional idea ... you get crickets. In general, people have no ideas of their own and so cannot process ideas generically. They have not the experience of it. I have found this to be true ... 100% of the time. Whenever anyone objects vigorously to an idea I have posted on the internet ... without a single exception in the time I've been on it (since ~1994 AOL) ... the person objecting will have no idea of their own to offer ... only invective and support for the status quo regardless of what it is.
