oddly funny when you get to the age where many of your feelings are weirdly abstracted. i should cry about this but i can't or i feel nothing but would've if my ability to feel weren't broken & buffering like an AOL download on a 1200 baud modem.

@spapad2 @SteveHofstetter My old one is still active. I use it for things that I don't want spamming the **** out of my full name Gmail. I just use that four important stuff. They can spam the AOL all they want. I check it about once a week and see if there's anything important that snuck in.

@Humanstein AOL Star Wars RP, circa 1994 if I'm guessing right. Back in the hourly fee days. After the second $400+ bill, family managed to find a newfangled direct internet service provider to switch to. My Warlord of the Imperial Armada took his ships into cold storage & was not seen again

@hazelsmack by the time the down loads were complete it was a euphoric moment hours in the making isn't aol still there I remember no commercials on the web I read a story in popular science they were saying by a certain date this stuff will be common in say 12years investment right JACK

@ward_black Yeah that list is just all the bad news. The good stuff would take a whole thread. Jim Carrey, the Dream Team, the Braves on TBS, Jimmy’s Cowboys, AOL instant messenger, SNICK, Pizza Hut buffets, peak Simpsons, Goldeneye, Hootie ... i could go on forever.
