  • _persianbarbie Susan (@_persianbarbie) reported

My father in law was watching a certain news channel and someone was trying to say that of all social media, Twitter is the worst when it comes to anorexia/bulimia content. Like excuse me *****, let me take you back to the AOL message boards and tumblr

  • Hsquared_Studio Hsquared Studio. (@Hsquared_Studio) reported

@espiteau @mdnij34 believing that the AOL model was going to destroy the Internet. There was no "value' placed in the content. The internet is as it is, because AOL and VC's wanted the dollar. And it is a bad cycle, because it involves all media: broadcasting, broadcast radio, publishing...

  • Hsquared_Studio Hsquared Studio. (@Hsquared_Studio) reported

@espiteau @mdnij34 Long story/short: I lucked out and got the job of the century for me--although I never slept and was paid "stock", and suprised I was in the rooms. A few of our consultants were execs at Time Warner, and a few had worked w MSL. AOL also were part of these discussions, as were VCs

@oneBUSTEDnut @SierraWhiskey9 Is it bad that i read that as unicorn and saw this image and my mind switched to that old AOL dial up sound for like a minute

@rosapolverosa @satanscatsmom Accidentally had way too many interactions with random adult men on AOL as a young child because my dad allowed me to make my screen name LittleFreak512 and then hang out in chat rooms all the damn time.

  • SyrslyWasTaken Syrsly - Steam GOTY nominations are go! (@SyrslyWasTaken) reported

Microsoft's "Xbox Museum" is the worst way I ever experienced a museum, a virtual event, or even a Xbox. I felt like a snail, running at 0.1 miles per hour... periodically zapping forward 2 feet like I was on some 56k modem in the AOL For Kids click-to-navigate image maps.

  • OgSenpaiMoxie Honestly... (@OgSenpaiMoxie) reported

I dropped my phone in water now everything moves in slow motion 😩 my poor iPhone is moving at the speed of AOL 😞

  • ghostofrobesy Robespierre’s Ghost (@ghostofrobesy) reported

@voluntary_nay @jimcramer Yup, but over all have done well. Back in the late 90’s had bought Netscape and it turned into AOL and before the collapse, cashed in to buy a house. $15k in wedding money turned into $40k for that down payment. You just seem to remember the oofs more.

  • TimmyBuddy Tim Jarrell of PWUnlimited (@TimmyBuddy) reported

Listening to Kevin Harvick on the Dale Jr podcast & Harvick revealed that if Dale Sr. did not die he would have still been in the 2001 Atlanta Cup race. That was planned to be his 1st Cup race in the #30 AOL car. This is something most never knew.
