  @ChrisMizTV @CFBDirect Man, i’ve been just playing offline while watching movies and whatever because i don’t dare risk my Dynasty while watching, but it is just sad. The entire mode is slow and clunky. I feel like i’m on AOL in 1996.

  🇬🇷 Three people were killed when a private helicopter crashed on the Greek island of Sifnos (Cyclades) shortly after 6 p.m. local time on Monday, Aug. 17, per the Greek fire brigade (via Reuters). The aircraft went down in the Tholos neighborhood near homes and burst into flames, sparking a brush fire that crews brought under control. The dead are the pilot and two passengers. According to unconfirmed local reports, those on board were a newly-married British couple and the Greek pilot; the helicopter had reportedly taken off from a helipad in eastern Attica bound for Sifnos and crashed shortly after departure. Authorities have not officially confirmed the victims' identities. One correction: early reports of six dead were incorrect — the confirmed toll is three. The cause is unknown and under investigation by Greek aviation authorities. It has not been established that a loss of control caused the crash, so early explanations should be treated with caution.   @daniel_koss Current snapshot, maybe undervalued??? Long term...subject to change (eg. Yahoo, AOL, Prodigy, Cisco, Nortel, etc. ) anything can happen. They can 100X or crash....nobody can prognosticate 20 years down the road, but for now make the money get the bag and hedge and pivot IF, (emphasis) IF needed).

  Everyone worries over EU startups flipping to the US. One Italian company is buying up American ones instead. You probably opened three of their apps this week. Bending Spoons is a Milan company most people outside Italy might never have heard of. Founded in 2013. Started as an app studio. Then it turned into an acquisition machine. The list is close to absurd now: AOL, Vimeo, Evernote, WeTransfer, Meetup, Eventbrite, Brightcove, Komoot, StreamYard. Recently they added Airtable. Over 50 deals in total. Most of the marquee names are American. All of it runs out of a single office in Milan. We all see European startups do the reverse Delaware flip. Move from the EU to incorporate in the US, chase US capital, hand control across the Atlantic. Bending Spoons runs it the other way. It buys American brands and moves ownership and control to Europe. You do not see that often. Bravi, @bendingspoons !! I run a European company, and we have a subsidiary in Milan. Nothing against US startups, but I want my kids to grow up in a Europe that buys, not only one that gets bought.

  Goddammit it..... 20.... I had to fax away financial paperwork for schooling. I used a rotary phone at my grandmother's. When I was a kid, I've used it encyclopedia, because I was always interested in facts in looking stuff up. I used floppy disks Galore back in the day. I had an AOL email. I still have my records and my record player. I loved dial up internet, but it was so slow. Cool but slow i've used an old school film camera and then even in old school picture camera with film. Yes, there's a difference once for movies. One's for pitchers i've used a phone booth when I didn't have a cellphone back in the day i had to write cursive in grade three i had to use checks to pay for some stuff.And to get direct deposits set up with work i used a typewriter in typing class in school i use a dictionary sometimes cause I can't spell worth a darn i had a bunch of vhs, tapes and v c r's when I was a kid i used a paper map because where we were going, we didn't have gps, and then I even printed out the map quest directions my grandfather used to have a water bed in his guest room i've sent.I don't know how many postcards i had a walkman and a discman and yes they're different and I even used the phone book when I was younger to orderbTakeout now if you don't mind, i'm gonna go yell at some kids that are crossing my lawn lol jk but seriously I feel so old now

  @sentient_ape1 @0xPrajwal_ Ah, yeah I can't think of a single other alternative to that. Same problem I have with teams and slack and zoom and teamspeak and discord and skype and AOL and mIRC. But we all do exactly that anyway because there's literally no other option.

  @LarryBundyJr Thank god for the fan-made Insignia Live online service as most of those update patches and DLC are now available to download and install again, though EA used their own servers for their own games and thus the online services for them can’t be revived by fans, at least not yet anyway. Also, there was DLC on Dreamcast and even roster updates for some of the Sega Sports titles, even though keeping the DLC on the VMUs while having room for game saves was very difficult due to the paltry 200 block (about 128 KB) storage limitations. Not only that, but there were also online services for the Intellivision and the Atari 2600, in the form of PlayCable and GameLine, respectively, with the latter of the two eventually restructuring itself into what is now AOL today.

  @AOL I'm having so many glitches when typing emails!! Is something happening within the AOL software? Mercury is not even still in Retrograde, but I'm checking what I've typed many times because of these highlighting, moving, glitches. Help, please.
