    @CandidlyThea @TammyNew12 @Mythsas Yes. But you could get someone from aol on the phone when you were having problems. My brother still has an aol email account.

    @__artOS @AOL I never imagined that this would be a sweet moment of nostalgia. It took forever to connect to the internet and that dial-up sound was pure torture, but it made finally getting online so sweet!

    @joshelman And you could only communicate with other people in the same service. So if you knew someone on CI$, but you only had an AOL account... too bad! You couldn't communicate with them. The Internet came along and interconnected all the walled gardens - and let messages flow. And so
