If I was around Elon Musk I would probably start whining like AOL. He does a lot and has made a difference for the better of twitter but some things he could easily fix, he just won't doooo iiiitttt.

@PercyStaffin @HecBitw No sale is happening & bookmark it cuz I guarantee you. It’s all a ploy to clinch a massive tv deal & then they’ll say we’ll look into a sale down the road…they ain’t stupid they know exactly what their doing. Look what happened when AOL took over WCW, it died.

  • EK14MeV EK3 (@EK14MeV) reported

@uhf_satcom Haha. That’s back when the Internet stability was horrible before PPP modem logons. Just imagine the struggles of games using AOL or Compuserve graphical desktop running in background then, to get at those codes, while minding that Internet service was charged by time.

@aolmail I know having an AOL email address is nuts (I've had it since the mid-'90s though, and I have many others) ... but, re: your recent email upgrade: Why do deleted emails keep reappearing in my inbox? WTF is up with that?!

  • HarryRegician Harry Regician (@HarryRegician) reported

To Elon Musk; How did you arrive to the conclusion that Twitter was worth $44 BILLION ? He forgot about AOL & Time Warner deal. Ted Turner worst decision

  • cstross Charlie Stross (@cstross) reported

@meatguyf It's dead simple: if Twitter is GMail or AOL, then Mastodon is like old-school local email servers that exchange messages with one another. Your mail still gets through and there's no billion dollar megacorp squatting on top of it and shoving ads down your throat.
