It rules that your two options for internet in Bellingham are to either pay Comcast extortion-level prices and get taken to collections if your remote is missing a battery when you return it, or go through Century Link and deal with AOL-Dial-Up-on-Windows-XP buffering issues

  • MikeOfManyMikes Mike's One of Millions (@MikeOfManyMikes) reported

@DAngel082 @AOL Nobody's reporting $29.99/month actually fixes the problem. This is an @verizon baby now? Just another front in their best bud's Special Operation, no doubt.

I’ve been online since before social media. AOL. Then MySpace. Facebook. On and on. And I still have not witnessed half as much horrible behavior and unhinged bullshit as I have on here. It’s enough to drive you insane. What is like actually wrong with y’all?

  • mikewarot Mike Warot - exploring Stable Diffusion (@mikewarot) reported

@RobboLaw In the past, it would have been "Imagine how horrible it would be if AOL wasn't there to allow people to connect" Tempus Fugit

  • N3DZoot Zoot (@N3DZoot) reported

@SCaemawr @TragosLaw It is the same crap just with better media coverage. The gold fringed flag, the ALL CAPS on legal documents. There were whole chat rooms and groups on AOL and Compuserve dedicated to this ****. I am amazed people still spout this nonsense. Ask a SovCit/Free Inhabitant in jail.

@RatedRShimmer @HannaBarberaCap @skysoundfanatic The AOL merger was just bad timing, if the .com bubble burst never happened and AOL did a better job with the transition between dial-up and broadband it would have gone a lot better

I've been on the internet for a long time. I was here in the AOL free six month trial cd days, I remember the wastelands of ICQ and I firmly believe that the creation of social media was the turning point for humanity. It's been down hill since then.

@danadonnelly [My middle-aged bad take] It's almost like they've had the internet their whole lives, while some of us were teenagers when we finally got AOL!
