  • DeconvertPlease 🪰 Flight of the Beelzebub 🪰 (@DeconvertPlease) reported

@javascriptual True BASIC back in 1995, which lead me to QBasic. Imagine trying to teach yourself that ****, pre-google, with no resources on aol, using just the help files, from which you also have to learn the terminology, uphill in the snow. It can be done.

  • xedlock Justin Medlock (@xedlock) reported

Meta is to VR like AOL was to the internet. Dumbed down, overly simplified, and severely limited. Don’t form your opinions of it from Meta’s legless cartoon version on garbage hardware.

  • EightBitTrash 🌈Trashin with Passion🏳️‍⚧️ (@EightBitTrash) reported

@AshDuke01 As a kid I found all sorts of wild **** buried in the fields if I walked through them after the plow, lol. Don't think I ever found anything radioactive, but I did find a whole deer skeleton once, and an unbroken AOL Installation CD later on.

  • SeanV8Power Sean (@SeanV8Power) reported

Major issues with my email account any help @AOLSupportHelp

  • _wald0 Andy Robbins (@_wald0) reported

Here's the thing: AOL could have fixed this issue *the entire time* by patching aolrich.dll, which was responsible for, among other things, HTML rendering in the AOL client.

  • BYIRINGIROMose WOLFIE (@BYIRINGIROMose) reported

Anyone to help me set up aol email on outlook iPhone app?

  • RealCharlesHoff Charles Hoffmann (@RealCharlesHoff) reported

@McAfee Why does the McAfee app keep terminating AOL customers who are supposed to have the service as a benefit?

  • TedInJest TedInJest (@TedInJest) reported

I never mention the name of my first pet because I don't want someone hacking my old AOL account. If they get in there, they could do some serious damage to my MySpace page!

  • ChronosFT Mark Chronos (@ChronosFT) reported

@trumwill Facebook, like AOL before it (and Yahoo), is just a middle-man. A store. While it will likely go the way of AOL and MySpace, the reality is AOL and MySpace didn’t cause 1% of the problems Facebook does. So, the successor will be frightening.

Gen Z will never know the struggle of taking Juno trial floppy discs from Babbage's and sticking masking tape over the copy protection hole so you can store 10 MIDI songs you downloaded from your 9600 baud modem from your friend in AOL music chat.
