Gillette didn’t pioneer the safety razor; Star did. Polaroid didn’t pioneer the instant camera; Dubroni did. Microsoft didn’t pioneer the personal computer spreadsheet; VisiCorp did. Amazon didn’t pioneer online book selling and AOL didn’t pioneer online Internet service….

@AetnaHelp i was denied dental service because they said i was not covered. the website tells me I am not covered, but I have the same plan. The only thing that changed was that AOL (employer) was sold by Verizon to Yahoo. Help!

  • Raeannaraeanna RaeAnna (@Raeannaraeanna) reported

So @gmail needs to admit they have a serious security issue in which spammers using your username can bypass filters to send scam emails to your inbox. If you ever were sent an email using ur username but had the “aol” domain attached to it, report it to the FTC. Report @AOL too.

@granthyarbrough Oh well shite. Seems like there has to be a solution out there for biz given that a huge chunk of the country doesn't have high speed or even close. Most Americans still deal with the equivalent of AOL dial-up.

  • therealmattdyer Matt Dyer (@therealmattdyer) reported

@JamiePastore9 Wasn’t this when Cloudflare DNS went down? Or when Facebook was down for 8 hours this fall? Or the recent Roblox outage? Overall we’ve moved beyond AOL going down ruining the experience. Would have to be quite a substantial attack (duration & depth) to take everything down

  • ercwl eriverse (@ercwl) reported

@gladstein @udiWertheimer It would be like asking, ”When do you think AOL’s private network could build an application that’s similar to a web application built on the Internet?”

  • YungD0uglas Doug Huang (@YungD0uglas) reported

Just heard the AOL dial tone on the phone for the first time since childhood. Not sure what to make of it other than “**** times flying”

  • pburkeTR pburke17.eth (@pburkeTR) reported

@PeterMcCormack I think of this as the AOL modem busy signal of 96. This will get sorted over the next year or so.
