@pancakesrider1 @helloSnafu @ScotPThomas The Catholic chat folks used to try to come in and save us pagan folk. We had teams that would just go troll them so bad they'd call in an aol moderators and then we'd clear out the entire chat and then start over as they all restarted and logged back in. Sometimes for hours.

It was probably something with my name and birth year. I recall seeing the randomly-generated addresses that AOL recommended if the one you requested was taken, and wondering what kind of idiot would just take a random username loosely related to the one they really wanted.

i'm a classical historian. i study the aol instant messenger/msn messenger "war." aol slaughtered msn. i'll never forget those we lost... msn tried hard, letting emos put simple plan lyrics in their actual display names (vs aol's less "hxc XD" away messages) let's bow our heads
