@SethDillon Twitter can never fail, just Ask Jeeves, Napster, AOL, Compuserve, MySpace, Friendster, Alta Vista, Netscape, Prodigy, Excite, Geocities, Palm, Compaq, Gateway, etc. We were about to dance on its grave, when one controversial guy brought it back to relevance. Twitter will fail.

  • NerdGirl2021 NerdGirl2021 (@NerdGirl2021) reported

@SgtJames13 I would do that if it weren't linked to my paystubs and personal benefit info. I *have* to have access to them. But I used an old throwaway AOL email, at least. None of their damn business what my actual, personal email is.

  • Gizmothekat Mr Gizmo. (@Gizmothekat) reported

@SeanUSMCSDI69 I'm a so-called Boomer, and I haven't had Aol since 2001, I remember they had those stupid disc they send to everyone.. loaded with adware. 🙄

  • 3JoursDuHaxxor Stadaconé Patriot 🇺🇸 ⚜️ (@3JoursDuHaxxor) reported

@SeanUSMCSDI69 All the email services scour your email for data mining purposes. But Yahoo and Aol are the worst offenders - they use a company called Oath which I believe is owned by Verizon and they really grab everything from shipping labels to doctor appointments.

  • LifeWithJohn Inspiration by John 🎄❄️ (@LifeWithJohn) reported

@ArlenaRio I have an AOL service. I marked the mail as spam. Then they gave me the option to unsubscribe. Each service is probably different. Good luck!

  • Axton10_61 Axton10_61 (@Axton10_61) reported

...I had always used some different names but never felt particularly married to any of them. However, after that day I decided that my name must be Axton, though I kept my numbers at the end. Those numbers were the first autogenerated numbers I had since my first days on AOL.

@tkuninho @WIRED Bruh you know how Google voice works... It's an app.. you know how you get apps? Hint, u dont down load them from AOL CD roms anymore

  • shibwasabi SHIBWASABI (@shibwasabi) reported

@LillyFinance This isn’t news when launching a company, let alone a finance company—web service you chose? Is this 1995? Was it Netscape? AOL? Yay!

@ElBartoArmy @SoundsnColor I got my start in software dev due to a phone call from a friend who was convicted as the first hacker to break into AOL's network, he now works on the kernel at Google. The job he called me for was a startup being founded by a former television star of Dr Quinn Medicine Woman.
