@djrothkopf There has been an odd stability to the internet lately which is ahistorical. MySpace, Geocities, AOL, Netscape all were great powerhouses. So it's not weird that Twitter declines and a new power fills the void. Or Musk cuts his losses and a Google, Microsoft, or Amazon buys it.

@BrainAblaze This Twitter chat stuff seems like AOL and Prodigy back in the day. Which service was better etc. Most people don't know who those two are anymore.

I remember when Time Warner bought AOL and killed the guide program. That was the beginning of the end for AOL and they were also the largest internet ISP in the USA at the time. And they still had produced content and an ad network

I remember being in the AOL chatrooms and frequently being contacted by women twice my age when I was in high school so I don't think I can go back there when Twitter shuts down. They'd be like 60 now.

@NickAdamsinUSA Nick, it's ok to admit you need mental help. First you are over hearing things everytime you are buying steaks. Now, you are talking about Bill Gates like its the 1990s. Are you still on AOL 4.0?

@duty2warn I read that right behind the Time Warner purchase by AOL in 2000, Musk's purchase of Twitter was the worst financial decision of any person or company in US history. Could this be why everyone is freaking out? Twitter is reportedly worth 1/3 of the 44B paid. That's gotta hurt!
