@AOL is the worst internet provider and email service! That’s exactly why they are going out of business. They wont let me acquire an email that I have not used in years (which happens to be the same email for my IG). DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE!

Ironically even after contacting regarding RESTORATION OF EMAILS LOST FROM SAVED LABELLED FOLDERS in GMAIL, AOL or YAHOO;NO SOLUTION IS OFFERED by APPLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. INSTEAD the AGENT HANGED D PHONE without any solution.

@commieflavus It's essentially when AOL offered people free access to Usenet (a proto-social network) through their service in September of 1993, and the influx of new users never ended (whereas in previous years you'd only get an influx of new users in September as people left for uni)

@DernKat @GailSimone Oh, yes. AOL once had a "radio station" featuring the world's worst songs. While "We Built This City" was on the playlist, there were many which were far, far worse. "A Pizza Hut, A Pizza Hut, Kentucky-Fried Chicken and a Pizza Hut!" Shudder.

@commieflavus AOL would send people free CDs, yeah, but you needed a dialup modem to use the Internet. Back in the day, and I can remember this, modems would have to dial into the telephone network, which was why it was so slow. These days, all Internet is dedicated broadband.
