@Utwitily 1998/1999 AOL. You had to murder a robot every time you logged on. Also couldn't be on the phone and internet at the same time. When my parents built their house in 99 they made sure there were two phone lines so we wouldn't have that problem

@UberNick You have any issues with the server quality just being wildly inconsistent from match to match? One match it's great then next feels like AOL dail up.

@Utwitily AOL 1998-1999? I remember my mom's friends coming over to use it too because they had never had it before lol

@maynardmilf Have you never watched any DB stuff? It’s weird though. Most pros I knew (in my Gen) ended up seeing DB well after DBZ. Pirating wasn’t a that big in the AOL era 🗿

@JohnnySibilly I was so deeply closeted in high school and college that instead of cruising bathrooms, I was totally abstinent except for my multiple daily jack offs. I was terrified of being accused or worse found out. I actually credit AOL chatrooms to help me finally come out...

@Utwitily Absolutely. I remember when we got the AOL cdrom in the mail for free. My main feature was AIM to talk to girls at school I had crushes on. My aim game was appallingly bad.

@ThalenFirebeard @belghast Our first was AOL on one line, so lots of disconnects. In high school I lived out in the country and it was a long distance call to do anything online, but that was mainly a direct line without a service to play DOOM.

@soymiIkmaid big same 😣 my parents caught me using random AOL chatrooms when I was 11 and got real mad, although they didn't actually ban me from anything just told me I could only talk to friends. Anyway I moved to Canada to live with a boy I met online so I guess my bad behavior won
