@fartelengelbert @RichardGJP @nadinecarroll @ClaireBerlinski I know you are an important guy and all Englebert and I assume really smart too. But the moron uses an unsecure cell phone. I have no care about what this idiot puts in writing in his AOL account. He hands pretty much everything off to his pals in Eastern Europe and Saudi anyway.

@pamelacolloff my local paper definitely employs the old AOL customer service strategy: if customers can never reach us, they can't cancel! Cancel online, you say? Not if none of our forms are functional!
-
Reuben Glaser (@Reubnick) reported
@aly__dixon I think it's finally time we CANCEL the guy who said "You Got Mail!" and "Goodbye!" for AOL. We've given him a free pass for LONG ENOUGH
-
Ben Hyrman (@hyrmn) reported
@GeecheeThreat "Mostly not" but a yahoo or aol email address definitely has a certain kind of energy. I wouldn't be surprised if it's a positive signal for security roles.

@LBLClblcLBLC @SasquatcherG @neilhimself An early computer network that ran on GE’s mainframes after hours. Think of it as a text-based AOL.
-
Chris Owens (@LordScavamungus) reported
@textfiles AOL SREs are like 'omg we've been trying to shut the servers down for 3 years but this Jason guy keeps putting in CDs and every time it adds two months to the contract'

K.F. (@kedfost) reported
@ExumAM It’s also just such a derp take. The lights never went out anywhere in California. It’s like they all got their little talking points newsletter in their aol chat room and then forgot to double check that the power actually went out.
-
hari sreenivasan (@hari) reported
Old nerd alert- Wish there was something like Trillian which pulled together yahoo, Aol, irc instant messengers. I know it can’t be due to privacy / corporate ownership etc. Between texts, signal, WhatsApp, gchat, slack it’s hard to find who said what to you & where.
