    @MorbidKnowledge Remembering every damn day? Sounds like hell on a loop, no fast-forward button...I'd take forgetting half my life over reliving those endless waits for AOL to connect.

    2014 — AOL quietly stops developing AIM, signaling its inevitable end. 2017 — December 15th, AIM shuts down permanently. No fanfare. Just silence.

    @vchplz @TheLaurenChen It's interesting to me that the issues I was screaming about in the AOL chat rooms in the 1990s, people are starting to talk about in contemporary times.

    I still have the printout complete with doodles that women who groomed me on AOL sent as a record of our conversation. I was 13 years old, they were a group spanning 17-21. Passed me around like a piece of meat, told me everything I wanted to hear. The document is double column and fairly thick. So, speaking from experience this will not solve the problem. What did solve the problem when I was the parent was monitoring my children's access to the internet, and instilling values like self-worth and awareness of predators. None of them got groomed, and the youngest is developing his own video games.

    @lady_valor_07 We didn't get internet until it was already fiber optic so I never had dial-up and I never had AOL address other than that I got 18 points
