@federalreserve I just tried to close my American Home Shield account. After about one hour trying to convince me to not, they agreed to close the account but I have my doubts. I am one of those millions of Americans who had same problems with AOL. Consumer Protection Agency was of no help.

@austinmcraig No way, Yahoo is unstoppable at this rate, AOL has everyone and offers everything from chat, email, and even internet service. There's simply no way MySpace is going to lose, it's by far the largest social network. 😜

Its always weird to think about technology as you grew up, because holy **** its overwhelming, for me its been a lot. From vhs, to dvds, to blu ray, to 4k. From super nes to xbox one From AOL to internet that can actually do things. From rotary phone to cell, to tablet.

@GregCfollows @joshtpm @MaxKennerly IMO, just on the er, face of it, Facebook is AOL. I've never been on it partly for that reason-- I had been an original AOL user, no need to duplicate that experience.

@notdan Its easier to comply instead of fight. They never give anything back. Ever. AOL Web 1.1 was the beginning of the end. Web 3.0 is where they just mine all of our rights and metadata. We are the product. Everyone will be their own Truman Show.

There’s something energizing and restorative about having the freedom to shout the truth from the mountaintops, even if nobody’s listening. I took so long to get my own social media because of how bad it was back in the AOL days. Nowadays there’s a “block” button. Right on!

@Machobeard4life I'm not a Vince Russo guy. But declaring he put WCW & TNA in a ditch has to be the most false declaration I've ever seen. - Time warner/AOL put WCW in the ditch. - Bad booking when Vince was fired put TNA in the ditch Vince actually had consistent 1.3s outta the MEM
