  • DeadairDennis Deadair Dennis Maler (@DeadairDennis) reported from Providence, Rhode Island

@bmoredownbeats I’m “sent AOL IMs via SMS text” years old. And I couldn’t continue reading b. Too many typos in their headlines. Such a bad publication.

  • montefisto13 Tim (@montefisto13) reported from Providence, Rhode Island

@13banger83 @MrCumbria80 @davemeltzerWON Time Warner that owned them . The AOL deal wasn’t finalized until a little over a month before WCW was sold. I’m sure the 24 months when the deal was being worked out didn’t help but AOL was buying a 150+ billion dollar company. The already failing WCW wasn’t a huge factor

  • timbo227 TimBo (@timbo227) reported from Somerset, Massachusetts

    @joncoopertweets @AOL Oh this *******....

  • bluesmama55 Blues Mama (@bluesmama55) reported from Pawtucket, Rhode Island

@JNureen @maydaymindy9 @AOL Thing is...I couldn't even contact aol. No email. No customer service. They just kept sucking up the money!! "you've got mail" and a monthly bill!!

@JQL1962 AOL really sucked. I tried 4-5 times to cancel my service, but they kept charging me. I finally “Lost” my debit card that was being charged and that was the last time I was charged.

  • whatkrakenhomie Kraken 🦑 (@whatkrakenhomie) reported

@RsHistoryJuly Holy ****, this was the photo that 12 year old me saw on Miniclip and instantly downloaded the game (waited almost 5 hours for the download on AOL) .. I can still hear that lobby login music 🥲

  • ACowNamedStan The Anthropomorphic Cow Named Stan (@ACowNamedStan) reported

@LegionHoops @OnBallSteph If you old enough to remember, AOL was crap then. We just put up with it and didn't know any better

  • DavidClinchNews David Clinch (@DavidClinchNews) reported

@BenMullin @jtoonkel @eshap I used to work for a company called CNN, which was very profitable. That company was merged within Warner, AOL, ATT and now Discovery. Is it any more, or less, profitable than it would have been if it had never been merged/swallowed? I’d love to see an analysis.

  • CartoonBouldy Cartoon Steve Bould (@CartoonBouldy) reported

Jokingly called my FPL team 'The Scunthorpe Problem', expecting the profanity-spotting tech to have moved on since AOL and dial up ruled the waves. And now it's 'Pending Moderation'.

  • frankri504 frank 🇺🇸☮️🥃🌊 (@frankri504) reported

@lorelei1950 Call you homeowners insurance . If Verizon FIOS is your network , then AOL (hell) is is your email provider , they absolutely suck !

  • monotonegent MonotoneGent (@monotonegent) reported

@DannyVegito If they were looking to out-stupid their time as AOL Time Warner they can stop now. There's no topping this

  • mcoorlim mcoorlim (@mcoorlim) reported

@OrionKidder AOL was the same, I think. And I remember having a separate service just for email - Juno. Might have also given basic Telnet (archie/gopher) access too, but "websites" were the last internet thing I got involved with.

  • bigpikampy pikampy all the time (@bigpikampy) reported

ah yes, 'loved my AOL and mp3 player' ******** is wrong with you

  • peaceandvictory Peace (@peaceandvictory) reported

@wonderland_jinx "I was around for the age of dial up AOL. You cannot hurt me, customer."
