  • DeadairDennis Deadair Dennis Maler (@DeadairDennis) reported from Providence, Rhode Island

@bmoredownbeats I’m “sent AOL IMs via SMS text” years old. And I couldn’t continue reading b. Too many typos in their headlines. Such a bad publication.

@Nakami_Jun Wait IE was "once-dominant"? I never used it even 25 years ago. I went from AOL to Firefox to Chrome. IE always seems to have sucked...well except for downloading the other browsers on a new computer.

  • ingenue_witty Sams (@ingenue_witty) reported

Like I dunno if you've ever had aol but like damn, what was your aim name? lol

  • wise_laura Laura Atkins (@wise_laura) reported

We have come completely full circle. In 2000 when I was abuse@ a major problem was phishing AOL accounts to compromise them and use them to send spam… today we’re talking about compromised accounts at mailbox providers sending lots of spam. #sameasiteverwas

  • chipgiftcrafts Chippenham Gifts & Crafts (@chipgiftcrafts) reported

@verge Microsoft is like AOL. What is microsoft good for now? They failed at phones. Failed at Cortana. Windows is being dumbed down to be like chrome. They have Xbox. Can we expect in 10 yrs MS will just be a game company?

  • mrq02 mrq02 (@mrq02) reported

@Purilly I always think these are funny, because mine has never changed. I was mrq02 back in AIM/AOL, through hotmail/yahoo, and on into gmail. I eventually had to change my e-mail a couple of years ago because I was getting too much spam, but everywhere else, same name! lol

  • juleah Juleah (@juleah) reported

Sometimes I think I’m aging gracefully but then things happen like AOL Instant Messenger being shut down or people attacking my reflex of typing two spaces after a period. Anyway, todays Internet Explorer news gets me.

  • Ownit64 OwnitTV (@Ownit64) reported

@TheChrisWoodard Remember AOL dial sheeesh that was the slow slow haha

  • nelson Nelson Minar (@nelson) reported

@danwallach I think back often on how AOL was legally required to make AIM interop with other messengers but it never actually happened. Apple's proprietary SMS system is much worse though, they use their operating system platform control to lock people in.
