@13banger83 @MrCumbria80 @davemeltzerWON Time Warner that owned them . The AOL deal wasn’t finalized until a little over a month before WCW was sold. I’m sure the 24 months when the deal was being worked out didn’t help but AOL was buying a 150+ billion dollar company. The already failing WCW wasn’t a huge factor

@juliey4 My view of it is the internet evolved. The needs of the consumer changed. AOL and Hotmail were slow to change and offer a better product. Also, google was free and aol was still a monthly fee to use back then.

@kelseyhuse30 My husband answered my personal ad on the Internet. Back when we had AOL accounts with dial-up access. I went on so many bad dates, I swore that his email was the last one I would read. We were engaged two months after we met. We’ve been married for 21 years.

Why do I all of the sudden get like 20 spam emails per day to <my gmail username>@aol.com??? 1. I’ve never used aol in my entire life 2. Does gmail not filter these for spam at all?? They’re incredibly blatant.

@trade_likeme @michaeljburry but it is a car company lets look at dunkin donuts as something else, yes a health food that makes one yonger & healther, TSLA one day will be the TYCO ,WCOM Lucent etc maybe not as bad lets say thay Yahoo-Aol of the past and AOL actually made a nice profit

@dildog I wonder if AOL kept the archives when they shut down CompuServe communities. They didn’t want to support the 36-Bit Dec hosts that ran that stuff. Also didn’t want the old products competing with AOL stuff. They just wanted our Global network of VPOPs.

@AOLSupportHelp I need to get into my account but I have to verify my account first but the account they sent to the verification email to is the one I’m trying to get in to. I’m going to cry 😭. Why is there no customer service available that I don’t have to pay for?
