@Thomas_Binder @andydalessio21 @BillGates Me! I forwarded an AOL email to 100 of my friends and won $500. He never paid me, though.

@the_clay_bird @mmasnick @DevinCow I still remember my Prodigy ID: GDXX03B! Lots lots lots of memories from that service (and Compuserve and Delphi and AOL and wow what an early-adopter nerd I was!). I particularly remember how shocked & sad we were when Prodigy instituted a 25 cent *per private message* fee!

@stevesi @cspan Microsoft may have learned the wrong lesson from the AOL/Sun play against us on the browser and media player: how to use the government to cause trouble for competitors.

@HarperDJ @ChristineParini Don has really crushed those companies. You almost never hear of them anymore. What is The Home Depot? Coke? I personally love voter suppression. That's why I've stopped patronizing Blockbuster, Sears and AOL.

  • Halfrak RaKeZ (@Halfrak) reported

@ClassicalLibe20 @cafox71 @AtomicWallet Pair is unavailable for everything. AtomicWallet goes down more than AOL

  • BeckermaticOK CryptoArtistX's personal account (@BeckermaticOK) reported

By the mid 90s, cable TV was the standard here. Almost anyone had a connection. Some families shared the same outlet to reduce the budget, but it was kind of allowed by the cable service. Then AOL appeared, then several other companies started offering something called INTERNET.

  • Scavage18 Scavage (@Scavage18) reported

its a cycle anyways. before the angelfire, altavista and altnet days we had the limited internet portals of aol, compuserve, etc. I'll gladly fill bags of both, but god damn I'll take the angelfire days over the google days. $eth

@ChauncyTalon I had AOL there wasn’t gonna be no online for me lmao. I think only games that were able to be played with that was the EA games. Also I didn’t have a network adapter. and yes I also didn’t care for online gaming at all.
