@awallenstein They are a mess compared to their history. But it’s shocking how many people still have yahoo / AOL email addresses, yahoo stock portfolios, use yahoo fantasy football, etc. At a low enough price, in the hands of someone who knows what they are doing these are not bad assets

@TProphet Wow, what a write down if they only get 4-5b for them. AOL alone is a huge ad platform now (huge as in combined businesses, I don't know if their ad stuff is actually used)

@akakarenwilson When my fam got aol in 96 and I loaded the entertainment/theatre channel for the first time, the marquee of Big was the first internet image I watched slow-load.

"Verizon bought AOL for $4.4 billion in 2015, and it bought Yahoo for $4.5 billion in 2017." It is now selling the combination for about half what it paid for both. This, kids, is a bad deal.
