Y’all remember when Prodigy, AOL, Yahoo, Netscape and more were battling it out to see who would be the biggest internet service company in the world? We are here at the point in the cycle, but for NFT’s. Don’t fear missing out on the shenanigans of yesterday. 🤝

@thenerdbrarian Oh man. I met the mother of my child in an AOL discussion group about Ani DiFranco. I’ll never forget the dial-up sound. My mom had a PC she used to dial in to the terminal at work, which we installed AOL on. Good times. I also remember dialing into bulletin boards on a C64.

  • ExitGdn Case Ker (@ExitGdn) reported

@LoveRetroBTW I had a direct connection, so I actually never used AOL. I dialed up the local Fox Internet BBS, downloaded IE (there were really no options otherwise), then dialed the 28.8 number and hoped for a connection

@pulte Yes, I know right. I remember when . I worked for AOL doing Technical Support 4 yrs . It was fun because we got unlimited data. Instead of paying 10cents a min. Ppl would 2 hours to talk to me. That was the hold time when we went unlimited data...I loved it

I don't know if anyone else sees the same pattern as I do, but why is it that whenever I sign into AIM, poor old @TVNaga01 is always featured, and not in a positive way? Well, @AOL @aolmail ? She is a veritable legend and you're being arses!

  • GBlakelyiii George Blakely III (@GBlakelyiii) reported

Third, people acting like this WASN’T the biggest drop of ALL TIME. The demand for this project far exceeded the demand for any project times 1000x. Are you forgetting that we’re still in the early internet days of this all? ******* dial up modem AOL ****? Cmon people!
