    @CommonnamePA @BenAndWoods It’s been pretty bad for most of my life and I’m 50. But the Dodgers for all their winning and money have won plenty of pennants there no doubting that but haven’t won the World Series since 1988. Empires have come and gone. Grunge, AOL, hell the Dodgers are the AOL of MLB. But

    I'm going to treat tomorrow like it is 1997 all over again and flip between AEW and NXT in commercial breaks. Also, since there was no social media back then I'm going to sign onto AOL and rage about the shows in a chatroom. After I go to Blockbuster and pick up a disk that is.

  • gabpickens Gabrielle (@gabpickens) reported from San Diego, California

    Some of y’all AOL with Google attitudes. MOVE. Get on my damn nerves.

  • Hendel Lt (ir)Rev Hendel (@Hendel) reported from San Diego, California

    I appear to be receiving spam email sent to @aol.com addresses - I’ve never had one. Sure would be useful to dig down and see all the headers on those messages, @SparkMailApp. 🤨

  • dmcnulla Dave McNulla (@dmcnulla) reported from Oceanside, California

    @julielerman @gdinwiddie @AOL I had that problem in 1993-94.

  • justex07 Justin Scott (@justex07) reported from San Diego, California

    @itsonlyzach I had that same sort of AOL/Yahoo IM gaymotional support. Literally life saving.

    @zaphodgjd @AndreElijah VRMLS problem wasnt finding usage . it was Flash and then SGIs. you cant introduce two disruptive medias at the same time one 2d and another 3d. especially if the tool sets arent combined. thats the direct word from those launching the first mass AOL website in 1996

  • PATA_logos ★patálogos ★ pubertarius ex stigma★ (@PATA_logos) reported

    Bank account ledgers on tape drums is the AOL/MySpace of digital money. Bitcoin is a peer-hosted, self-validated, triple-entry final settlement accounting. Imitators only serve to slow down migration away from the status quo. They don't want the Overton Window to shift.

    @thedeathsiren @trash_ebooks There was this weird scary period in the late-90's when everybody thought that AOL would become a monopoly ISP. Then cable companies (LOL many owned by Time Warner) started offering internet service, and AOL died horribly.

  • sarahdvojack Sarah Dvojack (@sarahdvojack) reported

    @RebeccaPodos I wrote Felicity (the American Girl) fanfic pre-internet and I never shared it. Online writing fic publicly (okay diary roleplay on AOL forums) was Titanic, but like…. the actual ship lol I stanned Eva Hart

  • 86reality m.r. (@86reality) reported

    "I'm Only Happy When It Rains" didn't come out til fall '95, pretty sure there was never an AOL service compatible with AMIGA, although i'm hyped to see a Video Toaster being used for something

    @kylegriffin1 My heart pounded as I watched the real time news coverage that day, for HOURS. I really thought they were going to capture AOL or Pence and kill them on live TV. I need to know why it took so long for help to arrive, who made the decisions and why.

    @chessiie_ Little me saw my mom use it so I made an aol account as my email. Have a lot tied to it so I use it still. Their website is so god awful I wish i used Gmail like a normal person.
