@DaytimeDan @snowmanomics It’s like someone saw Bernie memes in 2016 and 2020 and was like, “THIS IS HOW WE WIN SUPPORT AMONG YOUNG VOTERS!” And then they handed the task off to a 54 year old dude named Chad who still forwards AOL chain letters and uses a flip phone, but has a Reddit account.

  • JMikeSmith J. Mike Smith (@JMikeSmith) reported

@ekp I’ve heard having a legacy aol email address has some cache. Not sad I never kept mine.

  • thelovemaster Craig Shoemaker (@thelovemaster) reported

@LIVEpositivity 1996. AOL. Still have it, but rarely use it. Like your first car. You keep it in the garage for old times sake. But unfortunately, AOL will never be sold some day as a classic!

  • Ioonachos nΔchos (@Ioonachos) reported

ok but does anybody remember aol/aim days where we all made such creative stupid away messages as if anybody cared?

  • nudaptix Mahlon Gumbs (@nudaptix) reported

@jeremyjudkins_ So wait a minute! @Tesla can't support AM radio, VHS, Fax machines, CD, 8-Track, Betamax, dial-up or floppy disks? How am I suppose to load my 90 FREE hours of AOL on there before my next drive? What was @elonmusk thinking? Time to short $TSLA.

  • KConnerWriter Kevin Conner (@KConnerWriter) reported

@JennyENicholson No, we don't have Warner Bros store b/c Steve Case of AOL bought Warner, & announced at the shareholder meeting that he was shutting down all of the stores because he wanted to focus on media & not retail. AOLWarner posted record losses, as the stores made money. He was fired.

Damn someone on IG brought up AOL chat rooms. Man, AIM was the **** though sidekick users only understood that was better than our dial up connection at the crib

  • DwivC Charu (@DwivC) reported

AOL would have never let this happen

  • Erica_Kay Hermione Granger ⚯͛ (@Erica_Kay) reported

I feel bad for these old folks who don’t know how to use a computer but sis….. I had to learn too. I come from the aol cd era

  • clastowka Conor Lastowka (@clastowka) reported

One of my earliest internet memories is, when we first got an AOL account in like 1994, I uploaded a picture of Bartman that my 4 year old brother drew in KidPix and many months later a stranger emailed me "Just wanted to say that this sucks so bad!"
