    @elliekaysmith_ @markfollman Yep. I can’t imagine how they feel now. Close to what it felt like to have AOL shut down CNN’s community in the 00s after we worked so damn hard to build a true international online community.

    @SFLApodcast @straczynski Yes, he was on a couple of platforms: GEnie, AOL, CompuServe, & rastb5 (prior to the creation of rastb5.mod). To help prevent exposure to story ideas, he stayed mainly with moderated forums once the show was in full swing.

    @Kenny_Wallace @jim_utter There was standalone bulletin board systems back in the early 90s that you dialed into with a very slow modem. Also people forget about AOL and Compuserve back then. I believe AOL sponsored race cars at one point. All had social media aspects to them.
