@_david_ho_ I will never forget that sound...endlessly trying to connect to AOL...nor will I ever forgive you for reminding me of it. 🤪

  • DaveId Dave Id (@DaveId) reported

I guess Facebook has basically become AOL. It wants to be all things to all people, the entirety of the internet. And that's only a superficial look at the interface. It's got multitudes of other problems that go way deeper, and are far more troubling.

  • GingerArmy5 Ginger Army (@GingerArmy5) reported

@Sling what's with the intermittent disruptions? It's like loading AOL on a 28k modem. Checked my internet connection no problem

  • Rajamic99 Rajamic (@Rajamic99) reported

@JulieTheCranky When my family first got internet, it was a 14.4k modem, which was fine for the time. The problem was we didn't have any local ISPs, so we had to connect to AOL using a 1-900 number that cost $6/min. Downloading pictures had a direct cost at those speeds!

  • lilicequeen S (@lilicequeen) reported

    Bad ******* on my AOL

  • knuffah1 knuffah (@knuffah1) reported

@greg_sheppard @Fleur_Journal @HKesvani Yeah , but it's future sci-fi. Nobody is reading the Something Awful forums or using AOL.
