@PaperJoshi @rykoizilla just to clarify, new builds under aol were being done up until the last moment it made sense (hence the mid-december 2013 5.666 release that I worked on). the sale completed around the start of january 2014 once they'd completed the purchase of the targetspot ad provider service.

@subvegio Definitely learned more in my 2.5 years at AOL than I think I would have in High School. No regrets. Oh, and I was getting paid pretty damn good, had stock options, 401k, health, vision, dental, and a discounted cell phone back when most HS'ers still had pagers.

@ZR1Trader I have been on the Internet since before AOL and I have never seen any of that with one click or one billions clicks.

@engineers_feed AOL Chat rooms around 1995-96, Webtv (1998ish)… in concept a great way to browse the internet on your tv. But…it was so slow back then.

  • JWilder9 J Wilder (@JWilder9) reported

@Bitdefender ......I've been on the internet since aol charged an hourly rate and I've had my cyber security compromised exactly... never........ What are people doing that they're so unsecure.....

  • LeezaRodriguez Leeza (@LeezaRodriguez) reported

@engineers_feed in ~1996 getting a shocking monthly AOL bill at >$200 because AOL charged by hour of ‘internet’ usage. Surfing was like crack. My solution was volunteering on #MotleyFool as an moderator for tech stocks which granted the MF’ers unlimited internet access for FREE!!
