  • StephanieDyas Stephanie Dyas (@StephanieDyas) reported from Los Angeles, California

Imagine if this pandemic had happened in the early 90s when some people maybe had AOL for internet with slow dial up. Now we have FaceTime, Skype, Zoom, Netflix Party and Card Against Humanity virtual games to connect with friends. Could be worse.

  • CryptoBullRon Ron (@CryptoBullRon) reported from Los Angeles, California

@HaileyLennonBTC I think I handed out over a million AOL discs trying to help people get online so I could sell them a website

  • jhamby Jake Hamby (@jhamby) reported from Los Angeles, California

@sarahjeong I have no idea what he's worked up about. I just read what you wrote and it all made perfect sense to me. I have no love for Google or Facebook, but the law is what it is so that a previous generation of service providers (AOL & friends) wouldn't be sued out of existence.

  • switttch scottt 🐢 (@switttch) reported from Los Angeles, California

@lucabrazzers it took FOR-EV-ER to convince her to get AOL, but once she was on she never left. lol

  • jhamby Jake Hamby (@jhamby) reported from Los Angeles, California

But you would certainly get your account banned from AOL if you were pretending to be a customer service rep for St*rb$$$$ or any other company or governmental organization.

  • bkeisermann1 Bruce Keith Eisermann (@bkeisermann1) reported from Los Angeles, California

    @AOL That's TERRIBLE!😥 R.I P. SIR!

  • buckleyplanet Christian Buckley #CollabTalk (@buckleyplanet) reported from Los Angeles, California

@joeloleson & @jwillie have not said a word about @MicrosoftTeams + AOL IM federation in their session. Apparently this customer segment is not a priority. Shocking. #SPSLA

  • makmanson Hamberderglar (@makmanson) reported from Los Angeles, California

@Charalanahzard Footballqb4. Have never played football and don’t even watch it anymore. AOL was a dark time.

  • SethDaSportsMan Seth Klein (@SethDaSportsMan) reported from Los Angeles, California

@realfakewalter Like, when AOL, emails, and texting first came out, no one really had problems spelling “your” or “you’re”. Now it’s so rampant I think it’s people’s brains have either regressed or they’ve just stopped caring. It’s like Idiocracy

  • wyntermitchell Wʏɴᴛᴇʀ Mɪᴛᴄʜᴇʟʟ (Rᴏʜʀʙᴀᴜɢʜ) (@wyntermitchell) reported from Los Angeles, California

I spiraled for 2-3 years from 14-17 making collages & fake radio shows, swaying to Fiona & Bjork while running AOL fan fiction chatrooms & modifying fish filets but I was performing Veronica Sawyer...literally no one gave a shit...or much less would have followed me on Instagram

  • TechArtMaker @techartmaker (@TechArtMaker) reported from Los Angeles, California

@NnnnnDeee @Activoid @pramsey342 @AOC I’m glad you support America Online. Personally, I think it’s a dead platform, but Canada seems perpetually stuck in the past anyway. Now, read the room and go back to whatever it is you Canadians do. Surfing moose-riding chat rooms on AOL I suppose... #Muted for stupidity.

  • el_duderino8184 The Essential Dude (@el_duderino8184) reported from Los Angeles, California

I used to print out naked pics while my parents were at home, and use them for personal research at night.... AOL was way too loud to try that **** when the parents were home

AOL Issues Reports

Latest outage, problems and issue reports in social media:

  • whichdanii Daria. (@whichdanii) reported

AOL would’ve never done this to me 😭

  • PhigSpin In Bob We Trust (@PhigSpin) reported

@deeperama The hell are people doing with their online ident to get doxxed anyway? Lemme sign up for this service using my old AOL screen name I've been using for 20yrs and make sure I include my bday and surname and tell people where I live.

  • hyrmn Ben Hyrman (@hyrmn) reported

@GeecheeThreat "Mostly not" but a yahoo or aol email address definitely has a certain kind of energy. I wouldn't be surprised if it's a positive signal for security roles.

  • e_considine Bc (@e_considine) reported

@SauloLondono @Noahpinion Here’s the thing. Back in 1989 nuclear nitwits read a lot of stuff that said nuke beats solar. Then IRL solar fell 90%+ but they never updated their priors. Now they linger on Twitter as AOL is no longer a thing.

  • adamjodonnell adamjodonnell (@adamjodonnell) reported

    @TC_Johnson I never used AOL.

  • crownedchimes 🔔BELLS 🔔 (@crownedchimes) reported

Sometimes you just wanna watch Heathers, Clueless, Mean Girls and Easy A in consecutive order but you can't ******* figure out which AOL-Time-Warner-Pepsico-Viacom-Halliburton-Skynet-Toyota-Trader-Joe's streaming service they're on. 😑

  • kedfost K.F. (@kedfost) reported

@ExumAM It’s also just such a derp take. The lights never went out anywhere in California. It’s like they all got their little talking points newsletter in their aol chat room and then forgot to double check that the power actually went out.

  • iamzeeeggman Eggman (@iamzeeeggman) reported

@pamelacolloff my local paper definitely employs the old AOL customer service strategy: if customers can never reach us, they can't cancel! Cancel online, you say? Not if none of our forms are functional!

  • Michael86857434 Michael Ramos (@Michael86857434) reported

@Apoctoz Damn hard to watch. No way he’s elected … his aol lagging

  • ouranometrian Ourania, *** shut tight retard² (@ouranometrian) reported

@Bugs_Meany @eigenrobot I use Quora for tech support and I now have 52 toolbars on my AOL
