  • chrismessina Chris Messina (chrismessina@mastodon.xyz) (@chrismessina) reported from Oakland, California

@seeminglee @xoxogossipgita Good point. Unfortunately Flickr is one of those internet brands that can probably never be sufficiently evolved without angering a core, vocal userbase, like still existing AOL customers.

  • cw4emeryville Courtney Welch (@cw4emeryville) reported from Emeryville, California

I never learned to type from Mavis Beacon programs, it was using AOL instant messenger everyday after school for an hour.

  • cleotiger17 Cleo Green (@cleotiger17) reported from San Leandro, California

@KLGLASS2 @Shakti74572 @AOL BE BEST WOOD fits her image perfectly bc the woman is empty as a brickwall cold as an ice cube boring as a slab of wood. Basically an empty ugly soul who will go down in history books as insignificant. Plagiarizer. Liar. Plastic. No compassion whatsoever for kids dying in cages

  • w00t John Vantine (@w00t) reported from Oakland, California

@mygiantrobot DMX - Ruff Ryders Anthem. Pre-Napster, there were private chat rooms on AOL where people would “serve” MP3s. So painfully slow on a 14.4 kbit/s dial-up connection. Simpler times!

  • jjsignal JJSignal™ (@jjsignal) reported from El Cerrito, California

@The_Katbot It was also the reason I managed to push my parents off of AOL and move on to a better ISP, since AOL required its launcher to be open to stay online. I think it was a common complaint. Before that, I would use Net Zero accounts until I was flagged as a "heavy user" good times.

  • sunnyfbaby el sole, himself. (@sunnyfbaby) reported from Oakland, California

@solesupremacy AOL -> chats -> Japan -> bay area a-z-ns lol. Damn im that old

  • airgups23 Shiv (@airgups23) reported from Lafayette, California

@AdtechGod 3 reasons I'm right: 1. The #s are going down. 2. FB has never shown they can innovate, all 'innovation' has come through acq. Gov't won't let them acq anymore. 3. Sheryl is gone and and Mark is ET. 4. Metaverse is too far away. In 2000 no one thought AOL could fail either.

  • ghiamia73 melania’s motherboard (@ghiamia73) reported from Oakland, California

@StephenGlahn @AOL And Capitol police didn’t do shit

.@AOLSupportHelp hackers grabbed my 90 year old father's email address, now spoofing it with one extra letter & emailing all his ancient senior citizen friends. Please #AOL you can do better than this. We are living in 2021 after all. With any "help" you require payment

  • HolzhauerTilman TH_DA (@HolzhauerTilman) reported

@AbhayyyxD @abetrade really? If you have read about it, it's history, whitepaper, the problem it solves, etc. it's actually still really cool I'd say. Like..AOL for example was never cool:) Bitcoin is really good at what it needs to be.

  • melkrawitz melissa krawitz (@melkrawitz) reported

@AOLSupportHelp I am getting more spam than usual. You need to up your firewall. I; even getting spam that is not addressed to me. Please fix your firewall!!! This is unacceptable

  • JCampy CryptoCampy 🚀🚀🚀 (@JCampy) reported

@digitaljuiceman @pigui007 @nayibbukele For starters: ALGO, HBAR, XRP, XLM, MATIC, DOT, QNT. Superior tech. Better use case. No PoW. Faster, cheaper, green. You can hold fast to the digital OG if you want. You prob still have a BetaMax & Walkman lying around. Still use AOL dial-up? Manually roll down your car Windows?

  • zTRG_ Aurora TRG (@zTRG_) reported

@Button_PC Problem is that majority of the NFTs I've seen are actual dogshit. I've seen very NFTs that aren't equivalent of AOL instant messenger profile pictures in 2001.

  • PierreM80827080 Pierre Moore (@PierreM80827080) reported

@AOL STOP THE CENSORSHIP AND SHADOW BANNING AT AOL. FILE A COMPLAINT WITH YOUR CONGRESS REP AND WITH APOLLO GROUP.

  • BeeDubsProwl Formerly 'Chris's House of Chicken and Waffles' (@BeeDubsProwl) reported

@silencedrowns AOL had no idea what a service they were doing to cosplayers of the era

  • JoshuaWaitt Dill 'Kabocha' Cabbageson (@JoshuaWaitt) reported

The industry has lost another legend. Known for 2005 hits like "Drop a deuce" and "AOL sucks" , BK will be missed. I suspect @Cokedupoptions of foul play.

  • OtsutsukiXBT Sanicrete Ambassador to Iran (@OtsutsukiXBT) reported

@noahseidman Buy CRV it’s the easy programmable play. Nobody likes the Apples, and Microsoft plays. But look how that turned out the impatient “innovative” companies like AOL got wiped and the tanks survived. Get rich slow > Get rich quick
