@cFidd @EricKleefeld I find it odd, if not curious, that the moment I hit “send” on my column that’s highly critical of the 1990s, my AOL service disconnected. Inexplicably, it will be out all decade. Never happened before. Probably just a wrinkle in time. I drove to Prodigy and sent the column.

@pearl_goldman Yes—but the free AOL service that comes with the Microsoft microchips makes it totally worth it. 😜

@CommonnamePA @BenAndWoods It’s been pretty bad for most of my life and I’m 50. But the Dodgers for all their winning and money have won plenty of pennants there no doubting that but haven’t won the World Series since 1988. Empires have come and gone. Grunge, AOL, hell the Dodgers are the AOL of MLB. But

I appear to be receiving spam email sent to @aol.com addresses - I’ve never had one. Sure would be useful to dig down and see all the headers on those messages, @SparkMailApp. 🤨

I'm going to treat tomorrow like it is 1997 all over again and flip between AEW and NXT in commercial breaks. Also, since there was no social media back then I'm going to sign onto AOL and rage about the shows in a chatroom. After I go to Blockbuster and pick up a disk that is.

@AZ_Brittney The biggest problem I saw was the destruction of blue checks requiring validation. When relying on an authority, you need to know if it is real. The rest of his insane management has been entertaining. It’s just a platform. It’s not motherhood. Go AOL!

@SusanSmythSL Hubris. Imagine a dictator invading a neighbouring country without conducting extensive research over the success of it? Time-Warner bought AOL for $65 billion & a year later posted a write down in value of $99 billion. I imagine they thought they knew what they were doing too.

@shipilev When I contracted to AOL and we were force to use their software I wondered how that unstable pig became so popular. I blamed Microsoft for lowering our expectations of quality software

@ReinH When I was a teen I beta tested for AOL rolling out internet service here. Paid in free internet, not money. Then they decided not to give that internet access anymore. I continued getting my access for the promised time through the unpatched bug I'd reported.

@PunkinPupuccino If I recall correctly, it always had a number code, you could change your name and all that. They fail to adapt to the mobile era and were eventually bought by AOL and you know the AOL story already.
