Marty Miller (@AMERICANSOSH) reported from Redondo Beach, California@MarshaBlackburn @technology @emilychangtv Marsha, I don’t usuallly agree with you.. but on this issue — yes. Facebook & Twitter are content publishers claiming ‘community standards’. So-called standards are enforced by AI & algorithms. No human editors. Juvenile. Years ago I helped the FBI fix AOL chat rooms w/pervs.

-
That_Data_Guy (@DavidSado3) reportedAnonymization sounds safe until you factor in auxiliary data and pattern matching. The AOL search data release and the Estimating the success of re-identifications in incomplete datasets using generative models both highlight the same reality: re-identification isn’t hypothetical, it’s proven. Real privacy requires built-in protection at the computation layer, not post-processing fixes, exactly the direction Secret Network is pushing.

Stygian Styx (@StygianStyx) reported@Jerinson0 @NotiPlay_ You have never lived out in the country have you? When I was in highscool we had to drive like 30 miles just to use internet that wasn't AOL. Also I lost my house in FFXIV because I wasn't able to play for a few months after my real house was robbed at gunpoint and we lost all our stuff.

Patrick Smith (@PatrickSmi80871) reported@UPMHPM @RagingKuJo1222 I have a problem with this, I predate some of these by so many years I don’t even know what they are, aol? Dial up? Floppy disk? I just got a cellphone and bypassed the computer age,, from rotary phone to smartphone in one move
-
Sage (@xoxo__sage) reported@CBlackhair aol was the **** lol i even remember it making alittle noise when trying to connect to the internet
-
champagneayatollah (@champayatollah) reported@clairlemon That’s bad legal drafting, honestly. I’d have expected better from AOL-Time Warner’s attorneys, led by Paul Cappuccio. (Possibly, the contract predated Pooch’s tenure.)
-
Nick (@nas8558) reported@hazzaricks Was an every week watcher since 1996. I gave up on the product last year. Say what you want about Vince McMahon but he would have never let his product die. Sadly its going out like WCW did after the AOL Time Warner merger.
