@stephendelong78 @CALWDA @JulieSuCA @CA_EDD #CAEDD Is a complete disaster. INCOMPETENCE. It’s like as if someone who has dial-up Internet, an AOL email account and thinks ctrl+alt+delete is tech support is running the IT programming Dept. @CA_EDD The “pending” glitches and lack of cust. service needs to end ! My mom controlled our AOL account when I was about 13 and would come into my room to sign me in. So, I created an entirely fake AOL login flow in Visual Basic and had her sign me in once to capture the password. Old school phishing.

AOL! TERRIBLE! It was to mean “America On Line”! Could not keep a tech advisor complete a help request on line to resolve problems with my email. Jess said “hello, what seems to be the problem” then disappeared and I had to pay to get him on line to start! VERIZON wake up please!

I tried to customize my Slack color scheme and it’s nothing short of appalling. Come to think of it, I never really was good at AOL color profiles, either.

@JenReadsRomance In 1995 for me as well, I was in high school. Remember those AOL CDs with so many free hours? And the singular annoyance you felt when you wanted to go online but your parent was on the phone? Things my child will never know.

@WendyLiebman I hate AOL. My email was with Verizon, who dumped everybody's emails into AOL, where suddenly all my incoming mail appears in "archive." They won't help me unless I sign up for a year-long plan. Why would I do that? I don't want to prolong the association.

@seventeen___g @CryptoCobain Why is AOL always the comparison? ETH is platform so much closer to an OS. We've had the same desktop OS's for decades because of network effect. And defi network effects are arguably much stronger since protocols build on each other and some can't even exist without others.

but largely, I feel fintech narratives are largely about being 'revolutionary'. now, they look like AOL scrambling for relevance. I guess they'll add "crypto support", but that's underwheling, not building on tech. Fence sitters aren't asym bets. I'd invest in a bank instead.

@hacks4pancakes When I was a kid, I wrote some basic AOL chat bots in visual basic and the kids in the warez rooms gave me crap for using sendkeys. When I asked how they did it, they gave me crap and didn't tell me. These people grew up and work in this field. You can spot them from a mile away.
