@joshelman AOL was a literal life changer for me. That dial up sound may be awful but even to this day it makes me want to go back a little

  • davidbyttow David Byttow (@davidbyttow) reported from San Francisco, California

My mom controlled our AOL account when I was about 13 and would come into my room to sign me in. So, I created an entirely fake AOL login flow in Visual Basic and had her sign me in once to capture the password. Old school phishing.

@I_Am_Edwards24 @GlobalFightRev @Lizziepops0 WCW self destructed due to the Time Warner/AOL merger. Vince won by default. It was criminal to turn down an offer from Bischoff for 80 million with a time slot and take Vince’s 3-4 million while paying off the big contracts themselves. Horrible business.

  • Hbk9701 Hbk970 (@Hbk9701) reported

@WWEHOFerSunny For the newer fans that don't know... AOL was an internet service provider (back thens version of Comcast or Century Link) and just about 90% of everyone connected to the internet used AOL... it WAS the entire internet basically. Anyway... "You've GOT mail" LoL

  • Fun__Ian Ian (@Fun__Ian) reported

Thoughts: AOL - A Broadband ISP. Instead of AOL going out of existence, if AOL turned into a Broadband Internet Service Provider (ISP), like Comcast, they might have enough nostalgia for people to want to re-connect with their service

  • hey_anything HeyAnythingNewWithYou (@hey_anything) reported

Been trying to update my payment info for two weeks @AOLSupportHelp but you refuse to acknowledge I exist. Funny how you knew me when it was time to charge me each month for 23 years. This is how you reward customer loyalty?

  • jarroddicker 𝚍𝚊𝚛𝚔𝚜𝚝𝚊𝚛 (@jarroddicker) reported

@mathewi you also never got paid / earned interest for using AOL ;)

  • The_Cee_Bee Cerulean Blue (@The_Cee_Bee) reported

@cindymclennan @SanJoseSharks I mean it is the most stupid thing I have read aol day and I read a lot of stupid.

  • AllieTheEditor spooky seasonal pumpkin latte (@AllieTheEditor) reported

@dappergander Lin clearly never spent any time in AOL or IRC chat rooms or had a MySpace if he thinks Twitter was the first to allow handles. Tell me you didn't pay attention to the internet until Facebook, without yadda yadda yadda

  • McKennedy1987 Uncle Ronnie (@McKennedy1987) reported

@Puto_Takagi @DickVanKlondike It wasn't necessarily Bischoff's fault. Read the book Nitro. It will help you understand. It was so much more than that. He was fighting against suits at AOL/TW. They were saying what could and could not go on TV. There is so much more to it.

  • PrincessTerm TermLimitsPrincezz (@PrincessTerm) reported

Poor AOL has to shut off access for comments when they want to spread lies with no accountability. Being based in Nyc, it might as well be in China.

@ThtKashmiriGuy We have no protection against 1. secular Hindus & hindus who believe in bhaichara. 2. hindus who impose purity test on other hindus.(Prabhupad is bad, Arya S is bad AOL is bad etc)
