@The_Katbot It was also the reason I managed to push my parents off of AOL and move on to a better ISP, since AOL required its launcher to be open to stay online. I think it was a common complaint. Before that, I would use Net Zero accounts until I was flagged as a "heavy user" good times.

@RickMcCracken @surajit_ghosh2 6 Mbps? No, Artemis is using a 260 Mbps laser-based link to transmit all data. With those speeds, we should be getting damn near 4K feeds from these live streams. We know they are getting WAY SHARPER images and feeds than the AOL Dial-up images they are providing us live.

@itsKARY_ Those days when we used our slow *** phone lines for AOL and if someone picked up the phone to dial out it dropped your internet connection 😭

When I started Curse in 2004, I was just couch surfing at friends’ houses. I didn’t know how to code, and I had no money. I found two engineers online in IRC chat rooms (pre-Discord), and on MSN/AOL Messenger. When things started working, moving to SF was the best decision. My ambitions 10x’d, I found an incredible peer network, and access to capital became much easier. You don’t need to be in SF to start, but it makes everything easier if you can be here. A lot of people can’t afford it or don’t have visas, that’s why we expanded our programs online for the first time with Canopy. I do want you to move to SF, but you can absolutely do it once you already have something going. Nothing is stopping you from building online, it’s actually easier than ever, especially with Twitter.

@_PaleblueDot__ @AndrewMinOK @AuronMacintyre ****. Too young to get groomed on AOL, too old to have been a sound cloud rapper.

WCW wasnt all junk, even before @EBischoff took over. You had Great Talent and some good Stories/Rivalries. WCW didnt fail because of lack of Talent or even Creative. It failed because AOL-Warner merger opened the door for those who didnt know and couldnt stand Wrestling to tie Erics hands completely, butt in,ruin it,and sell it for a miniscule fraction of its worth.

    - The AOL Time Warner merger, and resulting shifts made to Cartoon Network, happened around the same time that Fox Family was sold to Disney. Some previous Fox Family licenses, such as Totally Spies! and Transformers, moved to Cartoon Network as a result

@ChiefAgenteer @GaryMarcus Malfunctions is more accurate. But again, how much liability should the AI company have? Should the Internet Service Provider be responsible for the behavior of every user? How is OpenAI different from ISPs like AOL?
