@octothorpe PCPursuit wasn’t shenanigans. Totally legit service that let you use TeleNet (dial up backbone used by aol and compuserve) to make outbound calls in other regions. Was like $30/month. Now you could get to places to learn about shenanigans using it…

@harrymccracken Alas, my AOL CD just got scratched and I'm off line until they answer my support escalation call requesting a replacement.

@RossKneeDeep 19. Never had an AOL address. My first internet email address predated AOL. Yeah, I'm that old.

@lady_valor_07 I still have AOL email. I worked at AOL Windows tech support. I don't miss that. LOL!

@N0taTwitB0t @VDHanson @lsferguson I treat or view A.I. like round up. killing off all jobs with A.I. with no controls it can take 2yrs of recovery. If you spray as a doall in arrogance it will only become over diluted. Like a 486 computer and 45 pages deep of Aol entries. If slugs come back every yr. use 409.

@Soaringeagle45 19…never got an AOL address

  • WebBarr
    Web Barr (@WebBarr) reported

@hamburger @alexeheath Gates thought having premium content would be a differentiator for their soon to launch Internet Explorer against Netscape and (likely) AOL. Never imagined we’d be drowning in it.

    The People's Therapist 👏Expert👏 (@Careerflex) reported

@xxDFed117xx I never did AOL. So I know it is not that one. But for my life, I can't remember what all existed. I know I had a hotmail account before I moved to Gmail. I thought hotmail had something before they boned their own company. Same as Yahoo.

@RossKneeDeep 19. Because AOL was laughable garbage and I already had an email address.

@CTyank860z @TrizzyDigital @ThrillaRilla369 No. I really was never around him. And it was hilarious hearing how he got The Who family at least temporarily banned from AOL and grounded for two weeks.
